I'm thinking this one will be a good game, but if the Giants keep up the momentum they have and their defense continues putting pressure the way they have the last few weeks, I think they'll clip the Packers and get the upset...
What do you guys think?

dude...you are talking about Aaron Rogers here..dude is a savant when it comes to being a quarterback. I live in NY and I can't stand the Giants. The packers are the best team in the NFL, they are going to crush the Giants.
-
packers 31 giants 24
-
Love the Giants, and they're playing really good football right now.
But I can't forget that the Packers were an absolute juggernaut this year.
I can see all scenarios: Giants keeping it close, Giants getting down 21 within a quarter.
So I'm going to stop thinking about it and just watch.

Hey I think Aaron Rogers is a beast. Giants lost by 3 last time because Aaron Rogers had a minute left on the clock. They definitely are capable of rattling off a solid win against the GMen here, but I think the Giants may surprise a few people here. Eli has been the underdog in Lambo Field before. If you live in NY though and you hate the Giants, that makes me assume you are a Jets fan. I hope that's not the case because if it is then I feel sorry for you and that a disgrace of a football franchise (or better yet, NY JV team) known as the New York Jets.

Jets+Giants=garbage

It's back to +9. I'm going heavy on this one.
It's either gonna be a happy day. Or very, very sad. lol
-
Seems like a trap line.
-
well, as noted last week, there was no story line for the saints, so look what happen to the high powered team that was suppose to win the superbowl. yeah, have to love the nfl.
tebow couldn't keep it within a touchdown in the 4th qtr, so the nfl refs could do their magic.
no one gives a fuck about the texans and ravens, nor does the nfl.
what's the storyline in green bay? rodgers for the repeat or eli doing it for peyton? i dont watch pre-game or the game so let me know?
-
Seems like a trap line.
To me, the most puzzling thing was that the 49ers-Saints line never moved all week. I expected a lot of late money to come in on SF, but it never happened. SF +3.5 was a lock for me, as that game was most likely to be decided by a FG.
I think NY-GB will also be a 1-possession game, so getting 9 points in this one almost seems like stealing. We'll see what tune I'm singing tonite. :)

When I used to bet, lines that looked like stealing did so on purpose.
The Giants have been playing their best ball of the year, pash rush looks insane, and they just dismantled Atlanta. 9 does look like a steal, probably by design. The vegas line is what is giving me the most trouble as a Giants fans - the fact that the guys who make their living off this think GB will destroy them.
I hope you're right.

packers by 14

You're definitely seeing what I'm seeing. They aren't always right on these, but when they are...it hurts those of us who refused to believe. lol The opening line was -9, but moved to -7.5 (and as low as -7 in a few places), but then got back to -9 first thing this morning. That was a 1.5-point move since Friday. Now I'm showing -7.5 again, which has me thinking the wiseguys are going with the Giants and are loading millions on that side.
-
Opening line for the AFC title game is Patriots by 7. Based on the way both teams played this weekend, that's about right. But I'm not betting shit until we get a definitive word on Ed Reed. He got really lucky that no one landed on his leg when he was coming down, but that still didn't look good.
Live betting on the early game offered Ravens +17 at one point, but before I could get in on it, it was down to +14, so I laid off. Dang.

Denver by 10. Oh wait :(
-
yeah, i dont know how the packers don't win by 24 points in this game.
giants are good, but packers are about to be unleashed.

only thing that hurts the packers in the defense. But yes packers will win.
-
announcers seem to be talking up eli when i took a quick look. ny for the upset. did eli say he was dedicating the game to peyton? that's a good story line.
-
do these stupid fuckers in the NFl know how to tackle...jesus christ
packers defense is horrible!

No, I was just being obnoxious. Sorry.

The Niners could be another story, successful francise with a first year coach, a qb that was considered a bust. On top of that a team nobody thought would make it thru the 1st round coming from last years 6-10 record. A team with a lot of history back to the playoffs after 10 years...
They could make a niners vs ravens, battle of the brothers and a rematch win for the niners!!!

Harbowl II ???
In round round I, John won because his defense annihilated the SF O-line. 9 sacks, not many teams will win giving up that many. SF couldn't.

i would like to see the harbowl...anything beats seeing the Giants in the super bowl

Or.... A Niners vs Patriots and possibly Brady getting his 4th ring on a team he grew up cheering for.....And dedicating it to Kraft on the death of his wife over the summer...
-
fuck east coast teams!

There's still a long way to go, and I NEVER count anything until it's in the books, but I'm looking pretty good right now.
I bet the money flips completely at halftime.
-
Go Giants! Come to SF!

actually be careful what u wish for..Sf secondary will get torched by Cruz/Nicks

Damn, I'm good. Packers +3.5 now, Giants -201 for the game.
-

Actually their secondary is quite good and playing in the west coast I don't see them losing 8)

We took one game from the Giants this year, at home. And that's exactly where they'll play if they win in the next 14min of play or so. Our house.
-
"who's got it better than us??" ..........NOBODY 8)

i hate the giants but i wouldnt be to cocky if i were a SF fan, now i dont see alot of SF games but my read is they average QB play, Average WR, Very good Run game and a very good TE ..with sick LB but i dont know if their secondary can hold Cruz and Nicks and Retard Manning is playing well now
-
ITS OVER..THE GREEN BAY POOPERS LICK ANUS....FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!!!
-
Manning and @Rio just ended the game.
-
Giants will end up playing the pats for a rematch
-
Haha pussy packers! Blow to the fucking head! Are u serious? The refs are trying to keep them in a game they are gonna lose.
-

So, let's see...you don't watch Niner games and you're going off of your read? Well, your read might be on par and correct. But using your examples, your basing our offense versus your defense yet turn around and talk about your offensive guys and fail to mention the Niners defense was #1 or 2 in turnovers this year and that our run defense is #1 while having near one of the fewest points per game allowed? And I'm the cocky one?
It's a fine line between cocky and being confident. I'm confident in the Niners because A) we have come a long way since the first time we beat the Giants and it's still going to be on our home turf B) just took down the Saints who are better stat wise than either the Giants or Green Bay and C) we have BEATEN the G-men before this season with less time playing together.
Sorry but you aren't showing me any reason why I would be worried as a Niner fan. Between Green Bay, who has basically lost the game though time remains, I think the New Orleans game was more of a challenge for the Niners than playing the G-men.
I've said all year that I'm prepared to eat crow when it happens. The Raven beat us and I ate a plate...I don't see that happening with the G-men.
-

This^ This Pats/Raven's game coming up is going to tell us if Bill B has been sandbagging the reg. season with his defense. I know Denver isn't very good, but the Pats Defense looked like they turned it up 10 notches.

i am very well aware that the niners have a really good defense but thats run defense,, their pass defense isnt anything to write home about and the gaints have a VERY good QB and VERY VERY good WRs..which spells trouble for the niners...the giants dont need jacobs/bradshaw to win...they both have done nothing yet the gmen are going to the NFC title game... and lets see ....the giants front 4 will give the oline of the niners all they can handle....AGAIN..i will be rooting for the niners but i wouldnt say its a lock they cant go in SF and win
-
ITS OVER..THE GREEN BAY POOPERS LICK ANUS....FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!!!
FUCK ME SILLY.....GREEN BAY DROPPERS.....UGH!!!!!!! My fucking shit did they play like they were the Denver Broncos or what????? Rogers QB rating is HALF of what it was during the season.
49ers>Giants
Patriots > Ravens
Patriots > 49ers

Brees shits all over Crybaby Manning and his wideouts are just as good as Nicks/Manningham/Cruz. I'm not quite sure if you're understanding your own argument that you've created.
We beat the Saints. We can beat the Giants. Not a lock, but in the pairings I'm seeing the Niners can very realistically be in the Super Bowl at this time next week.

my argument is simple....dont be so certain the giants cant win..case closed

if it's a close game, which team benefits the nfl? i'm going with eli. &guy story for superbowl week since he's dedicating this to peyton's neck. they'll have the cameras on the ugly german on the other sideline.
NE vs NY

I can't think of a more terribly officiated football game.
Gints still took care of business.

All I care about is being right and making money.
3-1 vs the spread this weekend, life is good.
NE up to a 9-point fave right now. Reed says he's fine. I'm taking the points.
49ers opening at -2.5, but I don't have a read or feel on this game yet.
-
I told you to watch out for the Giants :o I think it will be an '07 rematch between the Pats and the G-men. This time my Patriots will get revenge. Greenbay just proved that what you do in the regular season means nothing in the playoffs.

giants will easily handle the 49'res.
smith will have nightmares with that pass rush.
-
Giants dominated completely again.
GB only two TDs were the direct result of two of the worst calls I can remember in recent history.
I don't know how the replays guys could possibly uphold the non-fumble call, when it was evident to everyone but them that he wasn't down. Then the call on Osi vs. Rodgers was even worse. That was ridiculous.
Giant D was amazing. They had help from dropped passes but they were good.
Tre - nice win man. Enjoy the cash.

Surely you jest. Alex Smith will continue winning. Harbaugh is too much for old man coughlin to handle.

Give it time...it's us versus them, Traps. They'll see. ;)

Can't say I didn't call this one...
The Giants are for real.
NY vs. NE in the Superbowl.
-

NO WAY, WE BEAT THEM ONCE THIS YEAR, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN. OUR OFFENSE IS CLICKING, OUR DEFENSE IS IMPREGNABLE.
HARBAUGH VS. HARBAUGH IN THE SUPERBOWL !!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Patriots against NYG or San Fran would be a very good Super Bowl. If the Ravens beat the Patriots, The Super Bowl will be a snooze fest.

Thanks, man!
Seems like everyone agrees on the Jennings fumble and the 'blow to the head' on Osi. I'm interested to see whether the league will say anything about it. I'm really glad those blown calls didn't affect the game's eventual outcome.
If the Giants play *that* game again next week, I think they're beating SF, but there's no discounting that Harbaugh magic either. I would take Giants +3, though.
For now, I'm playing Ravens +9. That's at -131, but I'm seeing -112 for players taking +8.
On the Giants game, I'm seeing +2.5 at +105. A point costs $48! Half-point is $25. I'm taking a small play on the money line now at +126.

Im predicting Giants over the Packers 37-20
