What are some opinions on using caffeine pills such as jet alert for a pre workout supplement. Some say using caffeine restricts blood flow which is the opposite of what we are trying to achieve as bodybuilders.

I (and many others) use caffeine for a pre-workout "push" with good results.
Yes, it causes vasoconstriction, as well it elevates cortisol levels in the body.
If you're really concerned about that, you can take measures to somewhat counter those effects such as using a known vasodilator like arginine and anabolism-promoting nutrition such as quality proteins and aminos.
Honestly though, I really think that unless you've got some type of biological conditions/imbalances, you probably don't need to worry about caffeine significantly hampering your training results.
This is pure conjecture on my part, but if caffeine was dramatically detrimental to exercise performance, I believe that more trainers would have caught onto the fact by now.

there is no better legal pre workout drug

a small cup of coffee or tea adds more value than the pills IMO as you get the caffeine, the anti-carcinogens and the body temp increase from the hot liquid

And, anti-oxidants!
I always prefer strong coffee to any energy drink or pill, and use it whenever possible.

used to have a big cup of coffee pre workout but it was making me insanely jittery so now i just have a bunch of grapes before gym (franco style :D). Then again I never really measured my coffee out i just put a quarter of a cup in with hot water and milk. Caffeine is a great drug! just have to be careful not to over do it. Also believe you start to crave it and feel tired without it if you consume it constantly.
