Title: self dentistry to fill in a small cavity on one of the molars in the back
Post by: Marty Champions on February 05, 2012, 09:53:09 PM
i hear terms like veneer laminates being put on teeth that are porecelan bonded

now i have this stuff called marine grade polyeurathane that they used are bar tops that are nearly indistructable im thinking of filling in my cavaty with this the only difficult part will be getting it to dry i guess ill need some sort of gauze strategically aranged to keep the area drive. this isnt regular polyeurathane this kind is equal to 50 coats of it, it is super dense

ive always loved doing things myself whether its taking care of myself, never getting sick never having to rely on medicine fixing up houses ect now this will be a new era to undue some of the acid erosion on the teeth in the back of my mouth

of course the masses will sneer, but i take pride in being a true gentleman in showing you that it can be done properly at a 1000th of the cost

polyeurathane is not safe to put in your mouth. Look for something else.

no this stuff drys like a rock just a small amount wouldnt be toxic even if it broke off. for gods sake you people let dentists put mercury in your mouth. Being advised by Jeahn L Falcone would be the opted road of the wise it seems

You have to remove the decay or it is pointless. If it is small you can use a pick.

Johnny, this is such a bad idea...I can't emphasis it enough...
Just man up and go to a real dentist even if you have to pay it over time...

If you're scary of mercury get gold filling.

amalgam filings are fine and besides, the only difference between silver and gold filings is that they make the amalgam with gold instead of silver.

gold dissolves in mercury too.

I am using logic...someone has to see what is being done in order to achieve this...your eyes are on the wrong side of the object to view...

drill out the cavity first to remove the decay. use a dremel or hand drill. get in there really deep, like half inch. then fill. let us know how is works out for you.

Self-dentistry!? Even dentists don't perform such procedures. C'mon, Senor Falcon, get properly seen to.

Doing things for yourself is admirable.

I'm all for avoiding medical doctors if you absolutely don't need care.

However, dentistry is a whole different ball game.

There are only benefits to having this done right via a dentist (except for the $ you will spend)

There are only downsides to messing around with this yourself.

Dude, just get it done right at a reputable dentist and you won't regret it.
