guess the colour :D
It says Allen Iverson in the link ::)
Anyways, AI was like a Thug Michael Jordan, a 5'10 phenom in a land of giants. He had more heart than Kobe and Shaq put together...but he lacked the discipline. Didn't want to come to practice, disrespected coaches, team mates...
Then he went downhill, but didn't realize it was him that screwed himself up. Lost his Reebok contract, had to go overseas...and I think he has child support.

Not trying to bring race into it, but something needs to be done in the low income black community to stop shit like this. I doubt they would listen to a white dude, so a black person needs to go an be that example. I don't like Obama, but would have no problem if he used his presidential pulpit to blast the inner city black youth, and tell them to sack up and be someone. He did that weak ass "we can't all be ballers or little wayne speech" , but more needs to be done, because it is a problem for blacks now, that will eventually be a problem for everyone when society breaks down. If you are white and try and point out that black families usually don't have fathers, it is labled as a racist comment, but that is far from it. Read the Moynehan Report, that shit was shelved in the 60's because of race issues, but it speaks truth. We all share in the consequences of these actions, but we can't all take the action to help. GangstaLean, you seem like an educated man, do you do your part? Not an attack, just a question in general.

for every one that fucks the money up, there is one who retains the wealth and enjoys a nice little career after 40.

I predicted that he would be broke after he retired. This isn't really news to me especially since he is attempting a come back. No one would attempt a come back in another country other than the US if it wasn't financially related. Just look at TO playing in the CFL
-
This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. If it's a surprise at all it's that it took this long after he departed the NBA. While he had his short run in Detroit he was said to owe big money to more than one casino in that area. Keep in mind that he was still making copious amounts of dough at that time.
My opinion is that he still has the make-up of a teenager mentally and emotionally. The sad part about that is that his oldest daughter has to be 18 or damn near that age. A large number of athletes never grow up but in Allen's case, now that he's out of the league, he better put up or shut up.

I actually do a little bit, with my job I see tons of guys like AI---except, they are drug dealers, thieves, robbers, carjackers, rapists, murderers...
Some you can get to, others you can't, because they won't listen---they got their head too stuck in "the game", and many times when you see them later, they say, "I wish I listened to you."
problem is, is that the lil wayne's, Gucci Manes, of the world have to realize that there is a serious problem and that there needs to be a united front, a movement...

It seems to me that one of the "strengths" of the black community is that they help each other out, or try to, but when who they are trying to help doesn't want the help, they continue to try, to their own detrement. White people are like the gazele or zebra. They see one of their buddies getting ate, and just move along, to preserve themselves. The black community for better or worse sticks around and gets ate, like hienas. In the long run, it's better to be a gazele or zebra, and survive to another day.

entourage, screw you any chance they get.
-
So he is in the majority of former NBA players. The only news worthy is if it stated Iverson wasn't broke.
-
According to The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, athletics at the college and pro levels are really plantations set up to make money for the International Jew.
-
Shocker...Not! Iverson just never accepted the fact that he wasn't the man anymore. He's the ultimate ball hog to the end. Never able to re-invent himself and his game.
-
What a fucking idiot.... lol
Overpaid morons
-
$154 million in career earnings.
owes a jeweler $860,000.
i dont get it.
-
What a fucking idiot.... lol
Overpaid morons
This
-
Maybe he should've had a financial planner on his payroll instead of blowing 154 million dollars on bling bling and cars lol! When will these people learn to manage their money or hire someone who can? Theyre so grossly overpaid it's pathetic
-
why would you buy jewelry at all?
-
Iverson was bigger than Jesus Christ in the mid to late 90s. I would say conservatively AI made over 250 mil in his career. It's probably way more to be honest. Maybe even closer to 400 mil. Wasn't Walker worth over 300 mil?
It's insane how poor some of these guys judgement are. I can't even fathom spending that much money. If we only had pillowbiter the child pornographer here, surely he could explain to us how to wisely invest and spend hundreds of millions of dollars.
-
Practice? We not talkin bout a game but.............
Practice?!??!
;D
-
Maybe he just paid his "fair share". ;D

Daughter- What do u mean Ur broke dad!? What happened to my college money u said u were saving for me??
Iverson - sorry sweety, I spent that when u were 6 yrs old, I made it rain on some hoes one crazy night at a strip club, why don't u enroll in community college and apply for financial aid ???
-
What's funny is that they have to hire financial advisers to handle their money and this shit still happens all the time... these people have no sense of investment, finances, securities, etc etc etc They have to buy their BLING BLING ::)
-
You would think they would have all learned from Rocky 5
-
wow... how is this even possible :o

Well, these Financial advisers will tell these guys what they need to tell them, but at the end of the day, these few, not so Bright Millionaire Negros will make the final call........having spent 16yrs in the NBA with $150 million at your disposal, there are no excuses to be broke at the end of your career, but these inner city Kids who finally made it to the NBA see things differently.........they have to take care of everyone, including their Hood Boys, and they travel with huge entourage who offers them nothing in return.......maybe it's the Negro's mentality about sudden wealth or it's a bigger Problem than that.......when you decide to do whatever you want even after people offers you sound advice, you will pay the price later and I don't have to feel sorry for you......

Yep. I remember years ago stephen a smith talked about the huge entourage he kept. All on his dime. a financial advisor to an athlete is similar to a ceo and his cfo. Cfo can inform you of risks, warn you, let you know where the company stands..etc, but the ceo still has final say(unless there is a board etc).
My last ceo went through four cfo in five years. They all quit. I'm sure his advisor timelined his employment as he or she did their best to manage. Sad sad.
Oh well.

i know i know i'm supposed to be a franchise player , and lead by example, but were sitting here talking about practice .. not a game not a game, practice , how silly is that , not a game ,

Nothing for nothing but a lot of financial "advisers" are crooks...Especially when they know their client is as dumb as rocks.

One, what I meant was, when you watched him play---he played like a man possessed sometimes. He had that certain fire---Jordanesque...but, he was never consistant...
He would throw up wild ass shots that somehow made it in...
And he had a wicked, wicked cross-over, that seemingly wasn't really a cross-over. And he was 5'10.
But, he was too hood for his damn good. A dude I know told me one time that he was at a dice game, and AI showed up...he had a female with him, she was wearing a hoodie....it was Mary J. Blige. Really? You are going to bring MJB to a dice game?
-

That's what I remember the most about him..

his class, "The Cross-Over:The Correct Way To Break Ankles"

Definitely agree bro, but you get the just of my point lol ;D

Allen palmed the ball his entire career, otherwise, his famous crossover wouldn't have been so famous.
