Title: gymrats are intimidated by me
Post by: jakesonyou on February 26, 2012, 01:56:36 PM
whenever I walk into the gym people always get off equipment or out of my way.  Like the other day I was walking up to the fountain after finishing triceps and this like 18 year old kid sees me coming and accelerates out of the way.  He nearly tripped over a bench!  This other time I needed to do squats so I asked this guy how many sets he had left.  He made no eye contact at all and it looked like he was quivering when I asked.  He's like I am done, sorry, done, quickly yanked off the weights and ran off.

I can see how a big strong 6'2 person like myself can be a bit awing.  Especially since most people at the gym are average height 5'9 and little to no muscle.

Fact is though I am a very nice and approachable guy.  I am happy to wait my turn or work in sets with you.  There's always another exercise to do at the gym while waiting.

cheers
