Title: forearms
Post by: Voland on February 27, 2012, 11:12:29 AM
who trains the directly and how?

i have this amazing arms but my forearms are branchwarren-esque... :'(

i do lots of hammer curls and thats why my arm are so thick i honestly think i have a bigger brachialis than some ifbb pros yet forearms don't seem to grow. I'm considering doing some wrist curls and shit like that but i don't want to waste my time if forearms are just like calves; you either have them or don't and training means nothing.

Right attitude  8)

Little wider than shoulder width grip. Did usually four sets for as long as arms kept moving, putting more weight to every set.

i guess. I mean that muscle that is under the biceps and that makes it pop out. You can only see it from the side.

That's indeed the brachialis....you have to been lean enough to see it clearly.

I train them on arm days... I'll do some reverse curls, hammers, various types of wrist curls- all when I feel like it... forearms are mostly geentic IMO.. but doesn't hurt to train them  ;D

Favorite routine:

Standing behind the back wrist curls(you can get pretty heavy here)
One arm dumbbell wrist curls(off bench)
Reverse one arm dumbbell wrist curls
Ropewinders(killer burn)

Sets/reps/weight? All instinctive to how I feel in that moment. Just wanna see them veins pop sometimes ;)

And I like to do them on back day if I have anything left. Also if you're able to, train with chalk only for some moves for back. Really builds up that grip strength, and throw a forearm workout in after back? Whew! Youll have like a superman grip. Dude I'm so high right now It took me forever to write this shit 8)

Rope hammers or incline hammer dbell curls with biceps training.

Key is to masturbate with both hands.  Switch each time.

That is funny now that you mention it. My right forearm could conduct surgery, my left is weaker and can only do basic functions(typing, etc.) I honestly prob couldnt even beat off with my left hand. Maybe switch hitting is key? I'll just add it on at the end of forearms :)

In other words, you punch like girl.  Us Scots have super thick wrists; bred for rolling whiskey barrels and knocking out kyloe.

I've been told that my forearms are too big.  I have 20" arms, but due to my forearm size, my bu's don't appear as big in certain poses.

With that being said, I never train forearms.  I only use straps (Versa Gripps) on back training day.  So I guess bare handing the weights all these years, working construction at a young age, the creation of internet porn, and hormone use are all what contribute to my forearm size.  I do think though that forearms are like calves in terms of how much genetics play a roll with them.
