lets say neigther train lower body . lets say they are both 6feet 8 342 pounds one guy bench pwesses 400 three times a week 6 sets of 6
the other does 200 pushups 7 days a week
calories are not controlled it is not sure who is more hungry and who eats more. both have the same job aswell
who is stronger or leaner in the end of 5 years of this

200 pushups would lead to a lot more oxygen utilization, pushups also trains the whole body and core. so he would be leaner, and stronger on everything not involving the exact bench press movement

The push up guy would be diesel and the bench guy would look like shit.

yeah 50 pushups muscle soreness can last for days, but easily goes away if you start doing it more often about 3 times a week.
