He went to the Dorian Yates school of barbell rowing
-
Not taking into account the tear it's actually a pretty good physique (no homo)
-
Can he still function with that muscle? Can he curl his arm?
-
i have the same injury. curling sucks but can still do most everything else, just not underhanded
-
that's one brutal bicep tear
guess surgery was not possible. when the tendon tears off the muscle it's not.
-
Looks like a complete distal bicep rupture. I had the same thing. A lot of guys get partial tears but that looks like a complete rip off the bone. The repair for that has to happen within a week or the odds are against you that the tendon will grow back into the bone.

Bicep tear like that and the muscle rolls right up the arm like a window shade.........seen it on lots of guys.

Saw a guy tear a bicep tendon doing straight bar curls. This big puerto rican fella. Strong as an ox him and his buddies were big time juicers rec users. They were big into the bench competitions. One day he was curling some fairly light weight he had 2 10 pound plated on the end of an olympic bar. He let out a scream. The tendon actually rolled right up into his arm. They had to call ambarlamps. I thought he was going to go into shock.

I competed a few times with a great bodybuilder named Stoil Stolov who has two torn biceps......still looks great, places well in big contests and in most poses,he hides it well.
He`d have a pro card right now if he didn`t tear both biceps,as it is,he still crushes tons of great bodybuilders.

Actually no....they can do it longer after onset of injury.....gotta love science. Also, I have never heard of a tendon growing back into a bone. Will have to look thatup

;D
I think it's actually better if it pulls off the bone, gives a surface for the surgeon to put it back onto. I think it's harder when it's torn mid-tendon. Not sure about this though.

that's not dan hill.

Thought I'd read Dorian saying that they basically TIE it back onto the bone - could be mis remembering tho...
-
Easy fix

Bodybuilding of health.

I don't think Dorian had surgery on his, he opted to let it heal by itself which is one reason it looked the way it did post-tear.

some cool devices he built :D
seemed to work for his back. arms looks like shit though because of the tears.

Actually you are wrong. A complete rip of a bicep tendon should be repaired in a week or any complete tendon rupture from the bone. After that the repair will never be right. One method of repair is to anchor your tendon to the bone with metal anchors. Eventually if the rip is fresh it will reconnect to the bone.
Many guys have partial tears and not a complete one. Those are easier for the surgeon to repair and can be repaired to varying degrees of success weeks later.

"Stoil Stoilov emerged from prejudging as the slight favorite after narrowing out-sizing New Jersey's Carlo Filippone, the 2007 IFBB North American welterweight champ. Stoilov's great back, shoulders, and quads had him looking more like a middleweight than a welterweight; however, his lack of biceps development (perhaps a bilateral biceps rupture) left the door open for the judges to choose the shredded Filippone".

Stoils got a pro caliber physique..of course he loos bad in a front double biceps shot, but the rest of his build is great.
Places well or wins his class in lots of national level contests.......done well in spite of his injury IMO.
