It's strange, really...and also EXTREMELY annoying. If I workout sometimes (mostly the mornings) I get these itchy feeling in my upperbody/face/forehead. I heard that it was blood vessels. How can I stop this cause it drives me nuts!
thanks

maybe try to cool yourself down by standing next to a fan?

are you taking something (supplement or multi) with niacin in it prior to working out? this will often give you that "flushed" feeling and can sometimes make your ears turn red
-
You have syphilis.
-
i get it when i run outside with a hat...or when i used to play tennis..my head starts to get all itchy
-
Jaxx is right, niacin will cause this. Alot of new "pump" supplements contain niacin.

Niacin will cause it but usually a couple minutes after taking at least 250/ 500mg. The buffered Niacin version doesn't cause that affect. Brewers yeast might cause that in some people. A Niacin flush also acts on the pec's, shoulder girdle and neck. What's it good or bad for?...I don't know. It's a rush of blood to the capillaries and gives a redish color to our white or lighter skinned bro's.That sudden flush also causes nerve ending stimulation...itch or like the skin was crawling. One of my best Bud's is from Ireland and he is super white (he probably glows in the dark) with very thin skin. Even warming up he gets red in the upper body/face. Wouldn't think there could be much to do about it (but someone might know) just body type/genetics. Good Luck.

i'm 50% irish and my face and neck area gets red very easily. if i get hot, i turn red... if i hold my breath, i turn red. if i do any hard lifting, i turn red. it is only my face, neck and upper body that does this on a regular basis. i also sunburn VERY easily.

Could it be dry skin?

Could it be dry skin?
I thnk that may have something to do with it. I get that itchy feeling sometimes as well, and I have noticed that my skin is usually on the dry side when this happens.

Niacin makes sense to me . . .
I was thinking endorphin release - or *o p i a t e l i k e* - itch ???
Of course little actual knowledge/experience with...hmmm
I sort of was itching while training tonight dammit (thinkin about this thread)
but also while lightly medicated with . . .

I still think it has to do with blood vessels but I just wanted to make sure...
it's not niacin, cause I rarely take a multi; it's just an early morning itch bitch! and I hate it
thanks for the input

i used to run alot and i had this problem, i still get it sometimes while training to, it tends to really come up right before breaking a sweat, i think it has something to do with you pours opening up to sweat
