Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito will have a new sibling in the shape of Eddie Murphy in 'Triplets,' the upcoming sequel to their classic smash hit comedy 'Twins.'
Universal Pictures is overseeing the film, still in the early development phase, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Schwarzenegger, 64, and DeVito, 67, starred together in the 1988 comedy as fraternal twins conceived as part of an experiment in a genetics lab to create the perfect child, combining the sperm of six different fathers.
The former bodybuilder played the brother who inherited all the desirable traits, while DeVito got all the 'genetic trash.'
Though the plot for the sequel is still being worked on, Murphy, 50, will play their long-lost third sibling.
Ivan Reitman, who directed 'Twins,' has signed on to produce 'Triplets' but it is not known if he will be directing.
Schwarzenegger had put his Hollywood return on hold in May 2011, when news broke that the former California governor had fathered a love child with a former household employee.
But now Schwarzenegger is set to re-enter showbiz with his role in 'Triplets,' in addition to his starring role opposite Sylvester Stallone in an upcoming action flick 'The Tomb.'

this actually could be very good
-
I wonder, will they have another Mustang 5.0 in this one?
-
I don't know if I'm totally sold on this one. I kind of just want to remember Twins as a stand alone movie featuring a still somewhat young Arnold and Devito as a couple bachelors....Devito bringing him into his home/life and showing him the ropes, going on double dates, Arnold getting into physical altercations, with plenty of laughs along the way. That movie actually had some heart; I hope this version doesn't totally bomb and ruin it.
-
I say, this could be good.
-
i love the part where arnold flex his calves in the police station when he's about to bail danny devito out
-
this actually could be very good
x2
eddie rocks
-
Sounds like this could be good!
-
might get some funny from devito, but deep down we all know this is going to be the shits.
-
It aint gonna get better then this :D
Cookies?
'I look forward to tossing your cookies'!
This is one of my favourite feel-good flicks. The whole feeling of Arnold being new in the world, exploring it, cool relaxing and exciting music, meeting hot chicks, being pumped up, going on a road trip and offcourse ripping his shirt when the little blonde curled up next to him!
Epic great feeling!
LOL, living by proxy eh?
-
So movie about a
German Midget Negro

For some reason Arnold and Eddie Murphy sounds like a great combo, not sure why someone didnt think of it sooner.

Mudshark
-
Stupid Idea... Anything Murphy is in (real life) turn to shit. Arnold needs to stick to action.
-
Eddie has lost his way, only success in recent times is shrek and he isn't the star

Twins is a movie that was a huge part of my childhood, this sequel could be awesome!

No shit, he hasn't done anything good since coming to america...harlem nights was i-ight.

I love Eddie Murphy doing stand-up comedy, but recently, he's had so many Big screen Flops, that movie studios will no longer bet on him to carry any movie.....he lost that star power long time ago. his last succesful flick was Norbit. eversince, he's been flopping at the Box office....he might make a comeback as a supporting cast now rather than a leading role......Recently, he admitted that he doesn't need to make movies anymore and he can live comfortably and he said he will go back to stand-up at some time.....I'm looking forward to that

It was announced last week that a sequel to Twins was on the way, with stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito both returning. The movie, titled Triplets, will unveil the unlikeliest third brother... Eddie Murphy.
During a set visit a few months back for his upcoming film Last Stand, IGN and several other outlets including Coming Soon, got the chance to sit down and chat with the former Governor. And, inevitably, the idea of doing a Twins sequel came up.
"I would love to do another 'Twins,'" Schwarzenegger said at the time, shortly after he admitted that, of all his films, Twins was probably his favorite. "As a matter of fact, we've been talking about doing one and it's called 'Triplets.' I'd find somebody like Eddie Murphy or someone that people would say, 'How does that happen, medically speaking?' and, 'Physically, there's no way!' Then, somehow, we would explain it. That would be hilarious with what we know about someone like him."
"I can see a poster, a billboard with us three. 'They found another one!' 'Triplets!' 'Only their mother can tell them apart!'," the actor joked. "I would do that in two seconds, because that's real entertainment. You come out with that movie for Christmas, like December 5th or something like that, and you're home free."
Triplets is currently seeking writers, as well as a director. The first film's original director, Ivan Reitman, is attached to the project, but only as producer. Which filmmaker do you think would best fit for the project? Someone like Jake Kasdan or perhaps Ivan's son, Jason Reitman? And, of all Arnold's films, which one would you most like to see a sequel to? Sound off in the Comments below!

Twins Sequel in the Works: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Danny DeVito and Eddie Murphy as Triplets?!

It's the '80s all over again.
Twenty-four years after Universal treated the world to Twins, the hit comedy that paired Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito as the most unlikely fraternal twins imaginable, the studio is ramping up development on a sequel dubbed—you guessed it!—Triplets.
And it's looking to add Eddie Murphy to the brood as the third brother.
Per the Hollywood Reporter, both Ah-nuld and Danny are on board for the follow-up, and while there's no story yet, the Coming to America star would play the test-tube brothers' long-lost sibling.
The original 1988 flick, which marked Schwarzenegger's first foray into comedy, grossed a whopping $111 million worldwide so another installment doesn't seem like such a far-fetched idea.
So if the former bodybuilding champ's Julius got the most desirable traits and DeVito's Vincent the genetic shortcomings, where does that leave Murphy's character—the best sense of humor?
Ivan Reitman, who produced and helmed Twins, will only serve as producer this time around with Universal likely handing the reins to a younger helmer (son Jason perhaps?). A search is also under way for writers.

Eddie would not mind at all having an upper body like that.
