Kai Greene added another chapter to his life’s story this week by renewing an exclusive publishing deal with Weider Publications/AMI.
"I'm excited to stay. There’s no other place I’d rather be," Greene said. "The first bodybuilding magazine I ever read was Muscle and Fitness, but FLEX wasn't long to follow. To become a Weider athlete and be a part of the Weider organization is like watching a little boy's dream come true."
Greene, who was in and out of foster homes for most of his childhood and teen years, has overcome numerous obstacles on the way to becoming a two-time Arnold Classic Champion and one of the most popular athletes in the sport today.
Kai, who turned pro in 2004 by winning the heavyweight and overall titles at the NPC Team Universe, toiled in obscurity during his first two years as a pro. His breakthrough performance came at the 2007 New York Pro, where he wowed the crowd with a groundbreaking posing routine and a physique that had many believing he could have placed higher than his 6th-place finish. One month later he did, by winning the first show of his career at the Colorado Pro.
Since then, Greene has won two Arnold Classic titles and placed fourth in his first and only appearance on the Olympia stage in 2009. Greene claimed his second Arnold Classic win in March 2010.
We look forward to continuing the great partnership between IFBB Pro Kai Greene and Weider Publications/AMI.

Imagine encountering someone who looks like that in your home at 3 in the morning? Fuckin creepy.
-
these weider contracts are lowball as hell, one pro said his was 24,000$ a year, what a fucking disgrace

He's graduating from grapefruits to watermelons...
LOL. That's a loaded statement :D
-
Only did the Olympia once?
Hrmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
-
i picked up a copy of flex maybe a year ago for the girls in swimsuits. the magazine is thin compared to md and doesn't even acknowledge or ever mention steroids so i thought it was ridiculous and never bought another.
i'd like to see him signed to md.

his muscles look fucking digusting man, WTF ???
That is not bodybuilding :-\ I see it as a by-product of the need of humans to make 'progress'. Since you can't make physiques more aesthetic, the only avenue left for 'progress' is becoming bigger. In a most profound manner bodybuilding today is a physical embodiment of the excesses in society :'(
Make more profit, consume more things, inject more drugs :-X
It all boils down to the same thing.

Not a bad deal if you can get that.
Weider contract covers the GH and hormone expenses. He works part time to cover the food expenses.
;D
-
Lol, "Weider athlete".

Why does Kai always wear red?
He wears a lot more than red (when i see him, I don't see him in a lot of red), except in a few pics of a photoshoot, he wore red. His supplement sponsor is MuscleMeds, which is red colored (hence his sweatshirts, etc).

Ha - some athletes get $24K a year, but keep in mind, they are not in the top 20 of bodybuilding. Kai is doing quite well at Weider/AMI right now, and congratulations on being sponsored for another year.
-
Was his contract denominated in grapefruit and tilapia?
-
Kai wants to be part of team MD again but Blechman turned him down so he had no option but to renew. Word here in NY is that everyone hates the new staff at FLEX and wants out.

Yes.
And I assume MD wants him really bad. Weider must have offered him good money to turn MD down !!

i would like for kai to address his past g4p stunts. i feel that it would help put these embarrassments to rest.
i sympathize with kai, considering his background, i'm sure he had no guidance and didn't understand the gravity of such activities. he's a really great guy. the guy's got heart man. :'( fuck everybody makes mistakes.

He already said he did it for the money. Look at him now making more than half a mil a year.
