It's not ' pumping ' in the US because it sucks , I hope that helps and we already have enough shitty music in the US we don't need more

How do you know no one in the US heard it? maybe they did and they didn't like it? America has a huge Hispanic population a lot of those Youtube hits probably came from them

And Bieber sucks saying this kid can teach him a thing or two isn't saying much  :-\

Why worry about Americano biases? Do perpetually developing countries need recognition from the developed West to feel legitimate? As for the song: De gustibus non est disputandum and all that jazz, but I think the songs sucks. It has a simpleton rhthym and refrain. Kindergarten-style music for the culturally stunted. Also, the "kid" is 31, which is old enough to be washed up and past it in some circles. However, I wouldn't kick some of those nubile mindless minions out of bed in the morning.
Good point.

To answer your question, yes. Look at his clothes, Western...more importantly, Americano influence. Your name is Singh, whether you are in Europe or India...you know that Western goods and or lifestyle is the what you aspire to be and have...No Indian making money aspires or wants a Tata, but the car company that Tata bought---a Jaguar or Landrover...

Chinese aspire to own Jags, Mercs, Ferraris, Audis, Bentleys, Rolls, Buicks, Lambos, M3...not Cherys, or Geelys..

Sorry, the West is and has been marketed as the "best" lifestyle...not the Indian way, not the Chinese way...or African way (although, the "African" has influence every major form of popular  Western music today).

Yes the west is marketed the best lead by the white man from clothes to cars, every race aspires too. Next time just think who invented that Mercedes you are driving ;)

And btw why the fuck do we have to listen to other countries music anyways. It's an English based country, either know it or learn it or get the fuck out of here. Most of these Hispanics complain about people in the US don't speak Spanish ::)

What a crappy song and the performer was quite untrained as well.

Looked like he hadn't benched one time in his life.

Im talking about Americanos in general...yes I was at a club in NY this past sat night (international crowd )with a DJ from Europe the song came out and it was packed.... I looked for the song yesterday on Youtube and couldnt believe my eyes almost 300 millions view....

Bieber, Nikki Minage etc..maybe is not much but is the "shit' by Americano radio -air play and young generation going nuts

Of course u also have lil' wayne' & the Kanye (gansta attitude) kind of music by the masses too...

But my point is Americano is missing out due to the lack of openess to new suggestions when it comes to fresh simple music"

Yes it has been, by the west. The ONLY reason other cultures are copying it is because they havent really seen its true face. Having an Ipad and nice pair of shoes but cant talk to your neighbours and talking online more with 'friends' then in real life.

Give me economically less developed countries and life-styles any day of the week over the marketed western way of life. Any day son!
I agree to some extent---many people in the South or midwest still prefer to talk to with their friends via face to face interactions...and many have neighbors they invite over, talk to, take care of. My parents used to help out with an elderly couple across the street, and I used to shovel their snow, and still did, up until last yr.

I agree with you, Parker. My post had rhetorical questions. Also, I'm not Indian. My screen name is a reference to Star Trek II, The Wrath of Kahn, namely, Khan Noonien Singh, the genetically engineered near-Ubermensch of the Eugenic Wars. It's as good a handle as any.
Damn, I wasn't paying attention to the reference---man my geek meter has been malfunctioning lately.

imagine these popular artists if they were handicapped, or fat, or less than ideal.

would their music still be good enough to maintain their "fans"?

With all due respect, Hipolito. America has a lot more pressing issues than worrying about missing out on "fresh simple music." It's OK that you feel "America is missing out," but it's just your subjective opinion. You need not foist it upon Americans. You seem to want to see more of a non-American Other reflected in US popular culture. Needless to say, this has been the case since day one. National identities are porous and less rigid than some might think or desire, but why do you have this particular desire? Is it perhaps because you feel alienated, or not at home, in American culture (in general, as you put it)? You went to a NYC club on Saturday night, a club that was "international" or perhaps cosmopolitan and multicultural. Did you go to this club because it made you feel less alienated and more at home? That is not a bad thing. I hope you had a good time. You should go where you feel welcome and accepted, and NYC has clubs and venues for all types and persuasions. Isn't that a good thing about America? Perhaps there is not as much a lack of openness in the US as you perceive. America cannot be all things to all people at once or at any one place and at any one time.

1- I mentioned that song based on pure entertainment views.... Im not from south America so i didnt feel at home just cause i heard that song ..I did have a great time seeing a lot of girls dancing with just about anyone that wanted to "shake it" to that particular song....

2-I went to that club cause I wanted to see hot girls  (even if i was just at the bar drinking)

the song is retarded ... in Europe in general you find the most abhorrent type of "music" .. a techno/pop mix with the most talentless people .... wtf happened to talent? Anyone who likes decent music should steer clear of european, south american and almost everywhere esle night clubs .... some decent music left in good ole USA and some in england.. mostly dinosaurus

holy fuck that's an incredibly shitty song - I think the accordion touch makes it even more douchey

That being said, I've danced to more than my share of awful music (including Mexican with accordions) in order to get laid and that audience has a ton of hot chicks
