Arnold Schwarzenegger reveals book cover for 'Total Recall' memoir
Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed the book cover of his upcoming memoir "Total Recall" on Monday morning on Twitter to his 2.4 million followers. His publisher, Simon & Schuster, followed up with an email with details. The former California governor, movie star and champion bodybuilder is using social media to help complete the book. Last week he asked his followers to suggest stories or anecdotes they would like him to include.
On Monday on Facebook, he asked fans what picture they think should adorn the back cover, eliciting hundreds of responses. I'd have to say the "Terminator" face in the same pose has an appeal. In addition to Facebook, the former governor has launched a page on Pinterest to gather those photo suggestions. Now that Mr. Universe is on Pinterest, who says it's just for girls? As "Saturday Night Live's" Hans and Franz told us, Schwarzenegger is no girlie man.
Schwarzenegger is working with co-writer Peter Petre, Fortune Magzine's editor and co-author of books by Alan Greenspan and Norman Schwarzkopf. Publisher Simon & Schuster writes:
Chronicling his embodiment of the American Dream, TOTAL RECALL covers Schwarzenegger’s high-stakes journey to the United States, from creating the international bodybuilding industry out of the sands of Venice Beach, to breathing life into cinema’s most iconic characters, and becoming one of the leading political figures of our time. Proud of his accomplishments and honest about his regrets, Schwarzenegger spares nothing in sharing his amazing story.
How much the book might include about his personal life -- in 2011 he was revealed to have fathered a child with a member of his household staff, precipitating a high-profile separation from wife Maria Shriver -- is not clear. "Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story" will hit shelves worldwide in October 2012.

You got pretty much all of them there!!! Ric Drasin says Arnold used to literally make a "pudding" (he mixed it SO thick) of Blair's protein. The 1980 Mr. Olympia was an embarrassment to the industry, he should have lost.

I have reached this conclusion sort of. Of course he could have had better than both maria and mildred looks wise, but obviously he chose them for other reasons.
Imagine spending a whole night drinking brandy and laughing it up in the cigarr room and after that seeing off your gentlemen guests in their cabs 5 in the morning, californian sun dawning and while you avoid it and stumble to the kitchen for a pit stop before bed to grab a sandwhich you see the submissive maid on her morning shift, the maid who you didnt find attractive at all at first but like a fine wine has somehow grown on you. Beer goggled and horny as a dog you weigh your options; execute your needs right now in a exotic destination, or wait 3 more days for mariah to come back from her charity trip only to do the old stale routine with her - again. On January 4, 2011, Schwarzenegger and Shriver went to a therapist together -- an appointment she requested the day after his term as governor of California ended. He thought the counseling session was to help the couple cope with the transition from public to private life.
Instead, "The minute we sat down, the therapist turned to me and said, 'Maria wanted to come here today and to ask about a child -- whether you fathered a child with your housekeeper Mildred'," Schwarzenegger writes in his book, which comes out next week. "I told the therapist, 'It's true'."

Years earlier, Shriver had asked him if the boy was his, and he had denied it. This time, the "Terminator" star and politician writes that he told his wife that "It was my screw up." He gave her "lame" reasons for not having confided in her before -- he was trying to save her from embarrassment, he wrote, and he didn't want to face her family, the Kennedys.
At the therapy session, he writes, Shriver implied that she had already confronted Baena, who had confessed. She knew that Schwarzenegger had been financially supporting Baena and her family for years.
Schwarzenegger writes that he begged Shriver to stay, calling her the "perfect wife" and saying he was still "turned on" by her, but it was too little, too late: Shriver filed for divorce after 25 years of marriage.
Schwarzenegger, who is now 65, writes in the book that he slept with the family's longtime housekeeper, Mildred Baena, in 1996, in the family guest house, while he was in town filming "Batman and Robin." (Shriver and their four children were away on vacation, he wrote.)
Joseph was born in 1997, and Schwarzenegger says that he spent years trying to convince himself that Baena's husband was the boy's father. As Joseph grew older, the resemblance between him and Schwarzenegger was undeniable. "I realized there was little doubt that he was my son," Schwarzenegger wrote.
But instead of telling his wife the truth, he kept silent -- and he kept his mistress on the payroll in order to "control the situation."
"Instead of doing the right thing, I'd just put the truth in a mental compartment and locked it up where I didn't deal with it every day," he writes. "I blocked out the fact that as a husband and father, as a man with a family and wife, I was letting people down."
He told "60 Minutes" that Shriver had not yet read the book.
"She knows that it's about my whole life and that I would not write a book and leave out that part and make people feel like, 'Well, wait a minute, are we just getting a book about his success stories and not talk about his failures?'" he said. "And that's not the book I wanted to write."
Shriver, now 56, married Schwarzenegger in 1986, nine years after her family invited the Austrian-born body builder and movie star to play in a celebrity tennis tournament. The couple split up on May 10, 2011.
Shriver moved out of the family's Brentwood, California, home weeks before they announced their separation. Some said that she had been unhappy for years; others speculated that she was finally fed up by her husband's long history of womanizing.
In his book, Schwarzenegger confesses that he probably cheated on his wife because of stupidity and arrogance. It was arrogance, he writes, that made him think he could "get away with ignoring the rules."
"I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family," he told the Los Angeles Times after the affair with Baena became public. "There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry. I ask that the media respect my wife and children through this extremely difficult time. While I deserve your attention and criticism, my family does not. "
Still, he hopes that some day he and Shriver will get back together.

see, my guess is that arnold was just so casual about it.
probably drinking a little high end scotch in his den one night, annoyed at the wife, and the maid walks by. He always flirts, and he knows he can have her if he wants it, she's made eye contact longer than needed.
So he goes for it. she loves it, getting rocked by arnold 15 years ago, movie star millionaire. Arnold's just enjoying the thrill of an in-house BJ or hole anytime he wants.
She probably told him she's on the pill. Once she was preggo, what could he do? Just pay her off and shrug it off. As the kid grew up, his face and frame (and proximity of maid) start to become obvious to everyone.

The NYT book review. Pretty much a brief, non-review, and throws light commentary at the subject with one exception: 'What “Total Recall” actually turns out to be is a puffy portrait of the author as master conniver.' That barb will come as no surprise to most people, though. Arnold's making appearances to support this book. Who's gonna meet and greet/get a copy?

actually he didnt care about either kids, with maria or the fat cow. It's all about being impressive, all in the appearances, with arnold. He participated in spoonfeeding them.
He was a master at bullshiting people and showing off with his fake steroids muscles, but raising kids/ a family, not so much.
