Title: Rest time between sets and amount of reps you can do in a set.
Post by: Rami on April 17, 2012, 08:36:42 AM
it seems the longer you rest between sets ( up to a sertain point ) the more it enabels you to do more reps,

what rest time between sets is the best?

I keep UPPER BODY to 40 seconds to 1 minute...

I keep LOWER BODY to under 2 minutes, just because of the weight involved...

On heavy low rep stuff I take as much as I need, within reason, to move the weight and for lower weight higher rep stuff 60 - 90 seconds.

It depends on your goals. Power, strength and hypertrophy should have different rep ranges.

BINGO!!!

Heavy weight + good form = muscles.

Heavy weight + good form minus half your set because MD told you NEVER rest more than 37 seconds!!! = less muscles.
