I've always trained at the YMCA or the community centers and it was quiet and empty.
I finally decided to join this huge gym in an upscale part of town.
The most confusing thing to me was that the place is full of guys on steroids and who are bigger than myself (natural) but none of them lift much more weight than my own working sets.
Example, there was this black guy with cannon ball delts struggling with 225 lbs on the flat bench. My mind was blown!
Honestly, are drug guys all show?

Weight means nothing man! I know lots of huge guys that train with light weights, and small guys that train with heavy weights!
Its all about intensity and overloading the muscle. You don't necessarily need to train super heavy to build muscles!

Agree but a decent amount of weight must be used to achieve the desired intensity.

GVT is base on 60% Max 10x10 and if followed as written by Poliquin will make you question your manhood.

You sound like one of those guys who loads up the bar and moves it all of 6in,YMCA/24 hour fitness home of the half rep...

x2, probably pretty fat as well, and then he goes home and brawls that he is stronger than some juicer.
It's not about the weight that you move, it's about the looks. If I could grow on 20kg bench press, why would I go heavier and destroy my shoulders?

This Ive always trained heavy as fuck but a recent training partner has changes a few angles and lessened my ROM on certain exercises and Ive had to drop the weight. If I want to go heavy I can but I leave my ego at the door, Im there to get as big as possible strength will follow, remember it bodybuilding not powerlifting.
