.. that you hate, but theres no fricking way around it, you gotta do it...
for me its lateral raises, for some reason i just hate it, i try to vary it by doint it seated vs standing, but still, theres really no other way (other than cable, but its pretty much the same thing), and i dont think there is another excercise that hits the side delts ...
whats yours?

Hmmm.... I don't really hate any exercise..
Maybe deadlifts as they're so fukin' exhausting, feels like dying when doing 8-10 rep sets with maximum weight.
I these days do them lightly though.
-
Incline Bench.... I prefer Hammer Strength Inclines, but the results are not as great as doing them old-school.
They suck as I train alone and don't have a spotter.

There aren’t many exercises in which I favor a machine over free-weights, but when it comes to lateral raises, I MUCH prefer the machine version. The reason being that the pads place direct tension closer to where it belongs.
Many trainers perform the dumbbell lateral raise incorrectly to begin with. Using the machine keeps the move stricter, with every rep the same - no error, and no cheating with momentum or slacking in the form department.
The only other machines I regularly use for upper body are the Hammer Strength pullover and standing calf-raise machines (for shrugs). Again, the resistance is right where you want it, making it an ideal part of any routine.

squats, lunges...i love leg press but workout at home so all i have is the stuff i hate, and i still do it
how can you hate lateral raises, they are great

Calf raises, I hate them, they're the most boring exercise ever. In school, we use to do stair runs, and that was great and actually felt like you were doing something. But regular calf work? it's the pits.

i think 99% of pro bodybuilders can relate...i havent worked my calves for years and they are my best body part...i think calves are the most genetically predetermined bodypart...i have caveman flat feet and low calves that are crazy looking... the small high set calves like black guys have look pathetic but make fast runners and high jumpers

Yeah, I hate that exercise too but for me training calfs in general sucks. Train them every way possible and still don't wanna grow >:(

I don't know if anyone else has noticed but a lot of asians (yellow kind) seem to have great calves. I've seen quite a few computer programmer type nerdy asians with huge calves.

Absolutely. My buddy was a lardass offensive lineman in high school, prob 340lbs. When he was done with football and lost the weight he had the sickest calves. Prob 19inches with veins running through them
