They also sent other booklets on strongman stunts, self defence, how to pick up girls.
I never needed help in any of those areas.

You're like a fourteen year old schoolbitch who sees a picture of Kate Moss in a fashion magazine and wants to become a model

Ha ha ha. I think you have to be over 40 to recognize that. ;D

Did those silly ads run on the West Coast too?

but thats better than being bullied as a kid and go into bbuilding as a reaction to that.

no, it's not. it's a healthy reaction to an unhealthy situation in your life. you may or may not end up being a long-term drug user like a lot of people  on this thread.

going into bodybuilding because you saw a picture in a magazine, means you are highly impressionable. And while this may be normal for teenagers, I suspect that adults who retain this trait will be equally suggestible to a plethora of other areas in their life.

Although I never tried Cybergenics I can't believe I used to fall for those ads when I first started training.

I'm really showing my age, but I do remember this company.  I used to order a whole bunch of stuff from them when I was a little kid.  And from this page, I ordered the Hercules Wrist Band.  I thought it would give me great big muscles.  I remember when I got it, I didn't really know how to wear it, so I put it on so tight I cut the circulation off my hand!  I took it off after my hand turned a dark red.
