Title: Another Case of Emotional Problems From Head Trauma
Post by: The_Hammer on May 03, 2012, 11:24:54 PM
With all the talk about brain trauma and how it effects a person's emotions, I think the story of Ike Ibeabuchi is relevant.

In the late 90's Ike was the heir apparent to the heavyweight championship.  He had the skill and size to compete against Lewis and Holyfield.

Ring Magazine ranks David Tua the #2 hardest puncher in boxing history.  Ike and Tua would fight in the most grueling and exciting heavyweight boxing match in history.  The fight holds the heavyweight record for punches thrown.

Before the Tua Fight, Ike was a very religious and humble man.  After the fight he was a completely different person and ended up in prison after beating up a hooker.

Many speculate that the Tua fight alone caused brain damage to Ibeabuchi and changed his personality completely.

really???

I have a hard time believing that...

Most punches thrown in a heavyweight fight ever.

1 of the fighters is the second hardest puncher in history.

Watch this fight and you'll understand...

perfect example how boxing is idiotic compared to MMA. Turning brain into mashed potatoes is ok, but if someone bleeds after couple of punches in a MMA fight, it's considered brutal, barbaric and primitive. The general public really has no clue.

I remember that dude.  I think he got a taste of success and money.  This changes a person as it changed Mike Tyson.  BTW..I read he got 2 AAS degrees while in Prison.  He gets another parole hearing in 2012 sometime I think.  He was denied 3 previous times.  IMO he should be out now...I mean cmon, it was a fucking hooker.

#1 was Foreman

#3 was Tyson

Greatest punchers Tua is #48, but I saw a list from either '99 or 2000 that had Tua #2 hardest punchers, which isn't a stretch if you ask boxing fans.

I would not want to get hit in the head by David Tua even once!

Tyson was accurate as shit and aggressive as fuck, but I really don't believe he had one of the heaviest punches in history.
