He owns 2.3% of the Facebook shares. He will be worth between 1.5-2 billion dollars by the end of the day, dethroning Paul McCartney's net worth of 1.1 billion!!!!!
Of course the big winner will be Mark Zuckerberg who will make a cool 20 billion dollars!!!!! Reports say that he's intending going to buy all the jewelry from every Hip Hop Artist and melt it down into a Platinum Suit of Armor. Then he's going to bone his wife in a tub of cavier and truffles... :P

He or Elevation Partners?
Let's just hope it's not a bubble,

Why hope it's not? It is a bubble and a useless site.

Bonos real name is Paul David Hewson, and I dont see him filed as an owner with the SEC.
I thought that all owners of the company (when it was private) had to file with the SEC if they still OWNED shares.
I suppose he could be listed under one of the investment companies.
Its all public you can go check it out.

Bono acquired his shares through an investment firm/partner so it is not in his name directly.
Paul David Jewson. No surprise there.

I hope Facebook crashes and burns.
At least then I'll feel justifed in my decision to delete my profile there six months ago.

No, it'll be through Elevation Partners and he certainly don't own all the shares. Goodrum got it wrong again.

Well - you have to remember what an IPO is - it is a fund raising effort. The underwiter(s) are paid in cash & shares to get the best price possible.
It won't tank immediately. The shares that the underwriters and many other associate parties are subject to a lock-in period during which they cannot sell. This lock-in period is about 6 months and is publicly available.
Expect much hype & pumping, especially at 5 months out. They will spin it however they can to pump the price up so they can offload (unless of course they think it's really undervalued) and then they will offload. After they offload they will stop pumping.
This is why 90% of IPOs are way below the IPO price 1 year after the IPO.
Mugs game it is.

Bono is a smart man. Definitely a bit of a douche (and thats coming from an embarrassingly die hard U2 fan...fucking incrdible band), but he has made so many smart moves in music, business, and modern culture...you can't deny it.

Wonder if he still hasn't found what he's looking for?

Bono is the epitome of hypocrit. He talks about the starving and thirsty children in africa while he was being interviewed in his $20 million home in the south of France.

u have to enjoy some of that money some how.

Agree, but now that he has billions in disposible cash, he can shut the fuck up telling other people to donate to africa and use his own money.
-
haha, peaceful socialist hippies huh?
the irony.

I'll argue against your point here.
He has, on many occasions, made light of just what you stated above. It isn't like he isn't self-aware of what he crusades and how he lives his life. He has made a ton of money during his life, how is he supposed to live, in a cardboard box? Drive a 1992 Chevy Citation? Beg for food on the streets?
I'll argue that his charitable works over the decades, yes decades, have more than absolved him of said hypocrisy.

The fact that he has probably gained back any money he has ever donated through increased exposure makes that point null and void.
He tells others what to do with their money, and seems to do the exact opposites unless of course he directly benefits
-
Standard Getbig poster type wealth. Nothing to see here. Move along.

There's living well and then living excessive asshole lifestyle. That's the way he lives his life.

Really though, if he genuinely card about the lives of the poor he'd invest his money into africa, instead of into rich yuppie portfolio's. Even then he'd still be a greedy girl, just one with an interest.

I think people would be shocked to see how much money he has given away. Guys like he and stevie wonder don't go around telling everyone how much money they give away to feel good about themselves, they do it because they believe in the cause.

If it's anything less than atleast 100 mill he should be killed.

I wonder how many guys here have given money to charity?
Let Bono enjoy his fortune and spend it how he see fit for fuck sake. He doesn't owe the world anything.

No, the point is not the giving. it is a great thing. The point is on a 60 minutes interview in his $20 million pad in the south of France the asshole was ranting at how more work needs to be done in africa and people need to help out and give money. Must be nice to sit on your high pile of cash while telling others they need to donate.
The fact these guys have cameras following them around all the time showing them doing "good" work is PR bullshit. He needs to just help out and shut the fuck up. Now is his opportunity as a good man to take his massive fortune that he can use a big chunk of to still live in excess and give a boatload of money to africa. But sadly he'll remain a billionaire asking other's to help out.
Do you think he could have been just as comfy in a $5million pad and given $15 million more to starving children if it meant so much to him?
-

Who made you the arbiter of how someone should live their life?
He earned the money, he gets to live how he wants.
I don't see the big deal.

"PR Bullshit"? Oh man, I don't think you understand or realize just how much work Bono and others of his ilk have done in their life-times.
The camera's are around because he's famous and he uses his fame to draw attention to the causes he supports.
Again, I don't see why people get so upset over this.

I hope the fb stock tanks personally and we all know it will. bono has always been an uber douche hippy and I have never liked their music but I do respect his work and he has a good cause I guess. I'd rather see some funds allocated for birth control for those women over there also. Don't breed them if u can't feed them

Words of wisdom right there, fellas.
And the Facebook IPO is your textbook pump and dump operation. Lots of people are gonna get ass fucked
