great news! Will gas prices drop now as well?
Romney did say the economy was in a recovery - looks like maybe he was right ???

Europe is a disaster and the effects will be felt here in due time. There will be more downgrades and more money pissed away trying to kick start the economy. Same shit that's been done without any meaningful improvement thus far.

You are a great example of a typical Obama drone.

These obamabots never learn.

Keep hanging on that quote. Has it been a month?

Gary Johnson predicted this... it's called the Bakken oil fields.

Trying to stir the pot again? Try harder.
Oil is dropping because the global economy, including the U.S., is in a shambles.
And the economy is not in recovery, sorry. I don't care what Mitt said.

Why did oil spike? Cause the global economy was kicking ass?

Where I live in Oregon, the going rate at the pumps today is $4.29 a gallon and climbing. In Virginia Beach, VA it is $3.34 a gallon. What gives with this??? Don't tell me oil prices are dropping because I don't see it here.

Much more than that now.
At least 3 months.

This.
Prices at the pump are not dropping, so it really matters little.

In the UK its about $2.37 per litre, which translates to $10.77 per gallon. Its a pain in the arse because the prices will never come down sufficiently regardless >:(

My son lives in Uettingen, Germany. Gas prices are out of sight there too. I don't understand the disparity in gas prices from place to place. Of course some of the difference might be added taxes, but that doesn't explain gas being almost three times as expensive where you live than it is in some places in the U.S.
Here are some gas prices around the globe:
1. Japan: $6.77 a gallon
2. United States: $3.79 a gallon
3. Libya: 52 cents a gallon
4. Venezuela: 12 cents a gallon
5. Germany: $8.35 a gallon

HAHAAH that's crazy.

Don't forget that the federal government has not allowed the opening of any new oil refineries while there are heavy tariffs on foreign refined oil. This, of course, restricts the supply of gasoline - and it's a clear protection racket for the currently operating domestic oil refineries.

Of the countries with unsubsidized gas prices like Venezuela, the U.S. has the least expensive price for gasoline. My comment is based more as to why one state, like Oregon, consistently has higher gas prices than the rest of the U.S. It isn't taxes. Supposedly, an oil refinery which supplies gasoline to this area has issues. At least that is the excuse we are getting this time. Can't remember what the excuse was last year or the year before.

Yeah, but most other countries generally have higher direct and indirect taxes on gasoline than we do.

-Geopolitics
-Futures market.
Remember, it's the evil traders/speculators/BigEvilOil that get all the blame when prices spike, they are the scapegoats the govt. trots out when prices spike....why don't they get any attention when prices crash?
-
Yeah, but most other countries generally have higher direct and indirect taxes on gasoline than we do.
This is true. In fact in some countries the tax is a much a 75% of the total cost for gas. This does not explain why Oregon and Washington consistantly have higher gas prices than the rest of the country.

Explain how the President can control gas prices.
