Running Zombies really became apparent in "Dawn of the Dead", the remake.
Those fuckers hauled ass.

"28 Days Later" did it first (2002). "Dawn of the Dead" borrowed the idea (2004).

I know they did it 1st, but those werent real "Zombies", in the truest sense.
Dawn really took the idea and ran with it.

Man, you take your zombies seriously.

Man, you take your zombies seriously.
Not that seriously, I just have a buddy that lectured me on the subject for like a week.
Dude has a wall of obscure Zombie and Horror flicks.

Right movie.
There are scenes that take place outside with uber-sprinting death zombies.
Its like once they die, they can run 20mph without having to slow down.

You guys gonna laugh... but Zombie movies are the movies that probably scare me the most!
I've seen both 28 Days later and Dawn of the dead... Thought they were great, but I fucking shit bricks!
That scene at the closing credits of Dawn of the Dead was fucking great!!!
I'm done with zombie movies though, can't sleep when I watch them! Lame I know!

Nothing to do with zombies, but I really wish someone would film "Blood Meridian" for the big screen. John Hillcoat, perhaps.

WWZ was filmed in Glasgow Scotland last summer. It was disguised as Philidelphia I believe.
I watched the filming a few days in the city centre.
Apparently it made financial sense to use Glasgow because there were financial incentives available and they were
able to film great Zombie crowd scenes free of charge simply by filming the Celtic supporting Glasgow citizens walking by. ;D
-
Yea, tax incentives are a major factor in determining the movie making locations now-a-days and Hollywood is losing a lot of business.
Does anyone have the precise tax law/advantages regarding movies made within California?
I have heard that Louisiana offers the best tax incentives within the US, but I'm not too sure about that.
Here's some interesting background on this forthcoming WWZ flick:
$125,000,000 Budget, to be released on June 21, 2013.
After a bidding war with Leonardo DiCaprio's production company (Appian Way), Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment secured the screen rights to the novel in 2007
An early script was leaked onto the internet in 2008. Ain't It Cool News reviewed the script in March 2008, and said "This isn't just a good adaptation of a difficult book... it's a genre-defining piece of work that could well see us all arguing about whether or not a zombie movie qualifies as 'Best Picture' material".
According to Ain't It Cool News, the film follows Gerry Lane as he travels the post-war world and interviews survivors of the zombie war who are "starting to wonder if survival is a victory of any kind."
Filming in Budapest commenced on the evening of October 10, 2011.[42] That morning, the Hungarian Anti-Terrorism Unit raided the warehouse where guns had been delivered for use as filming props.[42] The 85 assault rifles, sniper rifles, and handguns had been flown into Budapest overnight on a private aircraft, but the film's producers had failed to clear the delivery with Hungarian authorities, and while the import documentation indicated that the weapons had been disabled, all were found to be fully functional.[42][43] On February 10, the charges were dropped after investigators were unable to identify exactly which "organization or person" had "ownership rights", therefore they couldn't "establish which party was criminally liable".[44]

They are already thinking about it: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0983189/
There is no fucking way you can make a film of that book - its too mental and too deep and compllicated, I was amazed that they did he Road and did it well!!
McCarthy's books are some of the most difficult books to read for me and I would generaly say I always have and always will read a lot.

Initial filming occurred in Malta before moving on to Glasgow, (which was used to represent Philadelphia as uncertainty over tax credits for filmmakers caused the production team to avoid the American city
Glasgow George Square disguised as Philadelphia

Loved the book - I thought it was really, really good. It was way later that I realized that the writer, Max Brooks, was Mel Brooks' son. How's that for a mind-fark.

Only zombie movies I really like is Resident Evil, and mainly the first one... Other than that, dawn of the dead was pretty descent as well. It had that realistic vibe to it. But man, zombie movies are soooooooooooo played out, and has been that for a long fucking time now. I actually saw a trailer for a new zombie flick coming, just this very day...
Meh, whatever...

The day after I watched like 4 Walking Dead episodes, I'm at my friends car dealership getting work done on my car, and i'm leaning against the side of the building in the back, just texting and shit. And out of the corner of my eye, I see this figure approaching through the the cars.
He was against the sun so i couldn't see clearly at first, but he was tall and thin and wearing overalls, and OLD, really old, and was walking with a limp...like dragging one leg... He's limping towards me slowly, I shit you not he looked like a fucking Zombie. for a second, I got the heebie-jeebies because I had that show on the brain. Turns out he was the janitor or something, but it bugged me out, I swear he looked exactly like one until he got close up...The limp is what bugged me out :P ;D
-
I really enjoyed the book and the audio book was possibly even better with the voice talent they used
Hey Stark - where did you see this trailer? Even the recent looked like it was a fan made one using pieces from other movies
I don't think there is a real trailer out there yet
