Where the big-money power-brokers go isn’t everything, but it is an indication of something. Obama has not done well in his first term. He has helped his cronies. He happened to be president when our soldiers got Bin Laden. But what has he done that average Americans can point to and say, “look at that.”

I'm a lib Dem but I heard an interesting story on NPR on the wage difference and it turns out that women make less because they deserve less. Mostly centered around having to leave work to have kids and shit.

This statistic (women earn 77cents compared to men $1 for work) is incredibly misleading. Studies have shown men on average take the job that has more evening/weekend responsibilities, more travel, more pressure to produce/sell, more physically demanding, and less vacation. Because of that, the government is not comparing two exactly equal jobs, just two similar positions. Also, men are often more competitive and negotiate more for salary and upward mobility in the workplace. The statistic is inexcusably misleading.
