How stupid are people like Straw Man, Blacken, etc?
Stupid enough to not realize that Citizens United had no impact whatsoever on the Wisconsin recall race.
"Second, Citizens United, which overturned federal laws censoring political speech, did not change Wisconsin's laws. The ruling did affirm that the speech Wisconsin would have permitted anyway was protected by the First Amendment, but that applies to unions as well as individuals and corporations. Anyway, it's telling that the left is convinced it can't win elections without censorship."

Here's a quick review:
recalls rarely succeed
Barrett had previously lost to Walker in 2010 so not exactly a strong candidate
Barrett only became the candidate on May 8th so not much time to campaign
Walker was always ahead in the polls and I don't recall anyoye saying he was going to win (certainly not me)
Last but hardly least, Barrett was crushed in spending with most of it coming from out of state

Walker raised more than 6 times barrett through in state donations?
The fact that the majority of his money came from out of state should give you an idea of the current views of the american public...

the out of state money didn't come from people like you or me (i.e. individual citizens who for some reason want to get involved in another states politics)
It comes from PACS, special interests and rich fuckers who want to own a politician.
This is the way it will be going forward. They will spend a few million and if they their guy wins they will get a ROI of ten to hundred times or more of what they spent
