Weeks to months. Iced it every day and stopped doing bis (and back for the most part). Took forever.

There is a supplement combo that helped; I can give you the info if you'd like.

You may still be able to lift, just go lighter, and ditch skull crusher or any over the head movement for triceps.

I had it before, took a long time off lifting, got back into it and it came back pretty quickly. I tried all the remedies too, ice, supplements, etc. Can't really offer any advice, but you have my sympathy.

Che I will tell you straight up. I had this for 6 months and the only thing that worked for me I would ice my elbow for a solid 20-30 minutes, as soon as the ice came off I had my sink filled with very warm-hot water and I would put in my elbow for as long as I could. After a week of doing this you will see a difference I promise you.

I literally mean 40lb shoulder presses. 20lb curls for very high reps.

I find that when I do that it gets better. Then over a few weeks you build it back to what you were at.

I messed with it for months, finally took some advice and iced the shit out of it, every chance I got throughout the day, breaks, lunch, home, just before bed. Within 2-3 weeks it was completely gone.

Yeah, that is definitely going to aggravate it. Maybe wrap it while youre at work to relieve some of the tension.

The next solution would be to have Bay come over daily and give you a massage  :-X

Pretty much ended my lifting career.  Best elbow doctor in Delaware was wearing a brace himself.  Rest up for a long time and train light like Vince Taylor.  Don't do what I did and give up and open up your own construction business with 75-hour work weeks.

I had it. I had to lay off of it. It healed in a couple of months. I started going to the chiropractor for my neck and back and he also worked on my forearm/elbow. Try to lay off of it for awhile.

There's a rubberband exercise you can do to strengthen the tendon, but I never had the patience. Put it around your fingers, then extend them for like a thousand reps. Also, squeezing a rubber ball. Again, thousands of reps over maybe three sets.

I'm exaggerating, of course, but I just never could handle the high rep therapy. Anyway, those two therapy exercises are somewhere online if you're interested.

Sorry, bro.

Higher reps and lighter weight.  It has worked wonders for me.  I always hated trying to rest it and when I started to lighten the weights, things got better in a couple of weeks.  I still feel it from time to time, but it is much better.
Even if it is only 5 pounds try it out.

I get it on and off, when I feel it start coming on I train around it until it subsides.

Honestly try training around it, I couldnt do DB lat raises but I could use a machine. I couldnt do lat pulls but I could do neutral grip rows etc.

When it starts to subside start doing some forarm and grip training. That seems to help, when I feel it start to act up ill train around it and throw in a forarm exercise or two and it usually knocks it out in a week or two.

Cortisone shot?

That's only a short term solution...I got the tendon in my right elbow shot 4 times with cortizone...The last shot did nothing..I did get relief for about 6 weeks

I've worked around elbow tendinitis, but found that it essentially never goes away.  Mine started about 10 years ago and even today if I try any underhand grip row, pulldown or straight bar curl the pain is there.

OK, this is a real $10 remedy (that works for some, not all).

1000 mg of alfalfa 2x daily. A bottle of 90 tabs 500mg is $7.

RICE the elbow 2x daily   (Rest, Ice, Compress, Elevate)  Get an ACE bandage, wrap your bad elbow firmly with an ice pack and make sure you rest it above your chest. It's easy. Twice daily, 20-30 minutes session.

Follow that simple routine for 10 days. When you win Wimbledon, send me a post card.

I went to a rolfer a few years back....without asking about them or being told, she could tell that I had cortisone shots in my shoulder 6-12 months after I'd had them.  She said it made the tissue "crunchy".

Turmeric, Frankincense and Ginger supplements for 6 months and it never came back.

Fucking horrible though - commiserations man - you really can't do anything with tennis elbow except give it time and find a treatment that will work for you.

Post by: Mitch on June 08, 2012, 04:59:36 AM
the RICE is definitely a good thing. You can also try the hot/cold shower, like 5 times 1 min very hot - very cold (only on the body part you want to heal). It doesn't always work, but sometimes it can do the trick just to kill the pain for a few hours.

that and...

rest, rest, rest, rest, rest, rest, rest, rest, rest, rest, rest, rest, rest, rest, rest, rest, and rest again.

I read you are in the construction work, so you are pretty fucked. :-\

If youre under the age of 30 or have less than 10 years of lifting heavy....  you can rest by giving up Curling straight bars ,close grip Bench-triceps press, triceps extension etc ......ICE IT....right after working out, fish oil, glucosamine,

Si eres mayor de 30  it only gets worse....

Si usas anbolicos puedes mantener "Size " sin tener que levantar heavy ass pesas....
Icing on the cake my ass!
