Mohammed "Momo" Benaziza was one of the original giant killers. There were many big names in this show such as Lee Lebrada, Vince Taylor, Phil Hill, Mike Christian, Samir Bannout, Albert Beckles and many more. The lighting at this show was great and helped display the deep separations in Momo's physique. In the end Momo placed third with Taylor second and Labrada winning the contest. I also would like to mention that Momo had one of the greatest backs in the history of bodybuilding and was one of only few men to beat Dorian Yates. Just a few years after this contest Momo passed away, but will always be remembered as one of the legends of bodybuilding. R.I.P.

Great pics, how the hell did he lose looking like that? insane
-
He was actually shorter than labrada, but so wide! Unbelievable lean size on his frame
Labrada that year was amazing, many felt the olympia should've been his
-
Pics from this video:
A few days before he died:
-
Momo was what Yates and Ronnie wanted to be. A mass monster with lines. He was thick but actually had the shape and structure to pull it off, shame he was a midget. RIP.
-
what killed him?

Diuretics related after winning a pro show, very sad. Diuretics are no joke

I keep hearing this (specially on this board) every day !
WHAT PART OF : Being a midget in BodyBuilding is not an issue you dont undertand??
Is not an issue at all! how many pros legends you know under 5'9"? and how many over 6 feet?
I honestly think is the other way around.

I am sure Ronnie Coleman, 8 time Mr Olympia, winner of 26 IFBB Professional Contests, arguably the strongest and largest bodybuilder on the planet dreamed of being a midget who couldn't even crack the 200 pound barrier who is now dead due to extreme diuretic use. Momo was good, but cant hold a candle to the One and only Ronnie Coleman!

Saw a vid of the guy in the FIBO 92. Was incredible, by that stage Yates had passed him but he was the only one who looked like they could have with Yates.

All of that happened after Momo's passing.

Lbs to inches,
Momo pushed the envelope when he beat yates at noc (90 wasn't it?) Massive conditioned size on his small frame
-
At his peak, quite possibly the best short bodybuilder ever.

I was thinking more in a generalistic sense and also guys do get overlooked due to height. What bodypart did Yates have that was better than Momo? I can't think of any.
-
Should do well in upcoming contests.
-
A physique to die for. Oh, wait.... :-\
-
Anybody got recent pics from him? oh wait.... :-\

Wasn't going to re-write Beethoven's 9th anyway....... ;D

MoMo was the one who motivated Dorian to bring his back up when he took 2nd to him in 89 NOC!

Right before the contest he won and then died after, Porter Cotrell
felt Momo's arms and they were cold and clammy but he also said that
was the hardest muscle he had ever felt on anyone. No Homo on
Poter's part. Probably saw the condition he was in and wanted to
check out how hard a totally dried out, fatless muscle felt.
I do believe that Momo was the 1st pro bodybuilder to usher
in a genuine GH, roid gut. it was very obvious and it's too bad
he felt he had to get even bigger to get better. He had filled out
his frame nicely and would have been even more competitive with
a little less mass without the belly. (Referring to post 1989 - his gut
was fine there.

Pre gut and post gut

I think it really scared him - he said that 100% of Momo's liquid intake came from just a few Pureed apples a day

I remember reading that article, but it was ages ago
If I'm not mistaken, he was buying a lot of bags of apples, and that was his sole caloric and fluid intake! Add diuretics in the mix...
It really shook up cottrell and especially brisbois that he called it a day. Milos, not so much, apparently...

Milos was present and saw momo dying yet many of his clients also got sick, and 1 died

Not bad considering he has been the only pro that has died with 24 hours of competing
