Which song has it?
-
There's a documentary about it isn't there? Some black guy (I think) had this riff in his song in the 50's or something and it's been copied a million times and it's since been trademarked by someone else?
???

That one is up there for sure.

The first riff takes me back to a time I wasn't even born in cause all of the late 60's movies I've seen. Would give my right nut to go back in time and been alive back then.

I thought this was about rifles

im not that sharp on computers :-[ i have to check for the manual

Buckethead is essentially a quasi-human quasi-riff machine, and there are a slew of good riffs to be found in his body of word. The problem is that it is buried in his 3,000+ albums among a bunch of noodling crap that normal people would cut out of a final product.
:D
-
Too many to pinpoint a single one.
-
Too many, agree with Fortress, but if I had to chose for my kind of music it would be black sabbath - anything.

You're welcome....and great choice. Btw (posted it before :D) I once dated the niece of Eddie and Alex... 8)

The baddest, most face melting shit I ever heard was Jimi Hendrix on the "Band of Gypsies" album. Track 4 is called "Power of Love".
I think it's supposed to be called "Power of Soul" but anyway this shit changed my life. Jimi retired the jersey on that shit. Play it loud and listen to the whole thing.

But of course it can't beat CCR's greatest riff....
-
To me the song is overexposed but you have to put "Sweet Home Alabama" up near the top.
....staple of every bar band I've ever heard.

Great but thats not a riff!

You really got me is..... :(

Yea and it's a cover! The Kinks wrote it and did it in the 60's!
-
I always liked Ozzy's "Perry Mason" riff and anything from "Holy Diver" by Dio.

Hendrix - Voodo Chile
Clapton - Sunshine of Your Love
Stones - Satisfaction
Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit
Sabbath - Paranoid
All good riffs
-
Isn't "Satisfaction" the same riff as "Jumping Jack Flash"?

;D questioned this many times....it's a tiny bit different.

You can't talk about music on GB without people telling you your favorite bands are rip off masters.

;D Not a huge Slayer fan, but the opening to this song is undeniable.

Also, yes I know this is a Hendrix cover, but SRV is just so damn good that it doesnt matter.

Fair enough. Maybe they don't resonate with you. Maybe it's an age thing - hey, I didn't really like The Beatles until I was older. And, hey, who's to say you have to like any band...but no rock music collection is complete without The Allman Bros. 'The Fillmore Concerts' - one of the best live recordings of all time. Just listen to how they lock together and just move the sound further and further, deciding where to go on the fly. And Duane, who died so young, and was so very talented...He is missed like no other, and I'm a monster Jimi fan.

I love a lot of music from that era, huge Skynyrd fan, Clapton, Hendrix, etc etc.... Its kind of funny, cause I grew up playing Jazz and Swing, moved to classic rock, metal, death metal, etc.... I appreciate almost everything musically... just, never really could get into them. Very talented guys though.
Like you said, never really resonated with me.

Cool. Keep them handy, tho. The Allman Bros. always stay true. :)

Modern day southern rock? Kind of. Lol.

Killer tune. Met them on the street in 84' peddling flyers to their show and then saw them open for Venom.
Vid I posted was me btw ;)
