Dunno bru.... I have started light running lately few times a week and I feel so much better :-X
Diet is the key to loose fat yes but cardio seems to be the key to overall health and well-being!

Cardio is the best exercise you can do for your health. But I never do it :-\
Wrt training I rather cut the volume way down and try to keep the weight up these days. The fat comes off with your diet not with doing a gazillion reps with lower weights but whatever works for you I guess.

Cardio makes me sooo hungry I usually end up eating more calories than I've burned doing it.
Anyone else have this problem?

High reps and reduced rest times will burn more calories then a slower paced routine, but then, so does cardio. You are also right that diet is very important. -bottom line, burn more calories than you consume and you will lose weight.

yeah but the weights used will really suffer. To retain the most mass possible, this is why most guys look like shit when they diet down. They go too low in cals, then stop doing what got them results in the first place. Going heavy!

You are absolutely right. For mass building one must employ lower reps while using ever greater resistance as well as changing up the routine often enough to keep your muscles stimulated. However, if one is carrying around too much of a layer of fat over their muscles, they will simply look fat and not defined and muscular.
As for diet, we all have different metabolisms and our metabolism changes during our lifetime. People with "fast" metabolisms are usually not as fat as people with slow metabolisms. If one is looking to lose weight, they must burn more calories then they ingest. If one is looking to lose fat but maintain their weight they must develop more muscle tissue preferably through exercise such as weight training. On the plus side, muscle weighs more than fat I've been told, so muscular folks can get away with weighing more than not so muscular folks.
I've not worked out for several months. I have dropped about 20 lbs because I am also eating less than I do when I hit the gym on a regular basis. Never-the-less, I believe that I look somewhat fatter then I did when I was working out. Also, my clothes still fit about the same. This is my incentive to get back into it as soon as possible after my impending surgery.

hold on, what is this high reps for dieting?
to reatain muscle during diet you gotta still train just as hard as ever.
maybe more sets of high reps to kinda make the lifting something like a cardio session itself, but you cant just go lower intensity just because on diet
qft,,,yeah some lower rep sets around higher say 12/15 helps keep muscle fuller as u get leaner to maintain some size/thickness ,,once u get too lean nothing going to stop from getting smaller /flat ,unless ur drugged then less effect ,normal gym rat or good shape bf 8/10 pct and u still can train heavy and pump and maintain.

There is no denying that would work, but anytime a diet revolves around so few food groups, failure is almost certain. Not so sure one would feel right eating fish for every meal. I mean even breakfast? Sick...

Anyway...I love cardio. Not the boring lame ass slog away on a machne or pointless run towards nothing cardio, but I like doing heavy bag work...high rep bodyweight work, med ball work, KB's....anything with a high "work rate". roller hockey's a lot of fun too....
