You're sent to an island to die. You can bring any video game, it has to be 90's. Put a short blurb about why you'd pick this game...
90's is remarked to be the awakening of video games. A lot of first and breakthroughs in that era...
Doom, and Doom II are obvious choices...but I dunno....How about...
Quake
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quake_(video_game)
Precursor and granddaddy to all FPS..(and even multiplayer)...If I had multiplayer on the island I'd be set...
-
Doom II and multiplayer as well, co-op 2 player via modem.
Id take Half Life, circa 98.
-
UFO: Enemy Unknown
Or
Fallout 2
-
Contra or Super mario bros
-
NBA Jam!
-
GoldenEye 64
-
doom/doom2 + all the good wads (master levels, hell revealed, plutonia, evilution, memento mori, etc.). It should represent a few years of hardcore gaming 8)
-
megaman x for super 8)

Good choice. Im a huge mega man fan. I actually made a tribute video the other day.
Anyways, it would have to be a choice between Command & Conquer - Red Alert or Heroes of Might and Magic 3.
Probably heroes as you get so much more out of that game.

Ha, awesome video, thanks, I am a Megaman fanatic, I have all 6 for classic Nintendo and still play them with my son, Megaman is truly one of a kind

Streetfighter 8)

I guess i'm the only one taking bubble quest, and jewel quest then lol
-
Wolfenstein!!! Excellent first person shooter game!!!
-
Something with long extended replayability value
So I'd say Civilization 2
-
DoomI/II - simply love it and I'm making my own source port derivate.
Other than that...
Quake - multiplayer/style/tech
XCom
Fallout
Warcraft

Assuming an internt connection, I would take Ultima Online and subequently make life hell for other players. This really was the ultimate game for this sort of thing, and all of the following was possible:
*Beat and kill new players as soon as they reached the outskirts of town, stealing all of their possessions
*Join an RP server where you are supposed to 'act' like your character but instead just 'act' like an asshole
*Set up a portal to an isolated island and send confused players through it; have someone waiting to kill and loot them. When you died you became a ghost and these people's ghosts were trapped on the island forever unless they got a GM's help.
*Join a guild and steal their stuff, blackmailing them or selling it
*Duel someone but have a hidden friend stab them in the back
*Cast a spell to make yourself look like a hostile creature so that a player gets confused and attacks you; watch and laugh as town guards kill them
*Take up carpentry and build pianos on the spot to trap people in corners

Redneck Rampage. Git off my land !!!

Resident Evil 2. There was nothing like it. What's better then solving puzzles and blowing zombie heads off with a magnum?

Any oldschool Castlevania fans? You should really check out the most recent game: Castlevania Lords Of Shadow for the 360 and Ps3 . Fantastic game.
-
Mortal Kombat was cool.
-
Final Fantasy VII or VIII
-
California Games

I need some help guys. I want to get some good old-school platformers for the xbox live arcade. Got ant suggestions? I was playing Crash Bandicoot with my nephew, and it brought back memories.

FUCK OFF CONSOLE DERP!!!
;D
Win.
PC gaming has gone downhill with the advent of the new consoles, IMHO. All the good game developers started focusing on how much money they could make selling to kids with their Xbox's and PS3's.
It seems like years go by on PC with only a couple great games to show for it now days.

Spot on. Developers just massively dumb down their games. Like with the disappointing Fallout 3. The "kids" might not get it.
**edit: the irony is that kids are smarter than developers think

I remember, when PC gaming really took off in the late 90's, we had Quake 2, HL, HL2, CS, Red Alert, Starcraft, Diablo 2, etc, etc, etc all within like a 5 year span.
Now... still waiting on HL 3. Battlefield 3 is ruined by a massive influx of CoD kids, Diablo III was a disappointment, Blizzard is charging full price PER CAMPAIGN for Starcraft 2, etc, etc.

Street Fighter II.
Used to play that with my mates for hours.
-
If I have some time I still play occasionally XCOM. Funny it hasn't good ratings back then.
2. Speedball
3. Flashback
4. Gran Turismo
There are som good 3D shooter like half life, doom, quake. But I overplayed them and they only make sense if you have a real opponent. Same with Beat m Ups.
