A lot of guys try their hands at being "funny", but their "insults" have no bite. Just because your one friend and your mother tell you that you have a great sense of humor, don't believe it.

I have done a similar variation on the J.C. Hise program of breathing squats. Mine consisted of four total sets done as two consecutive sets of 20 reps adding 20 pounds on the second set followed by one set of five reps with an additional 50 pounds and then back to the original weight for the last set of 20 reps.
When I was able to complete the reps mentioned above I would add five pounds the next session.
I also drank up to 3 gallons of milk a day. This works and added 100 pounds to my small to medium boned frame in two years. I got the idea from the power lifters at the gym I trained at. Once I saw what this routine did for me, legs became my favorite bodypart to train.
It will work for pretty much anyone. I used to train with two women and one of them was able to do a single set of 20 reps with 225 on the bar and the other reached 185 for 20 reps before we all parted ways and changed gyms. She was not a doper and was very feminine.

Another string of unfunny attempts at one upmanship. There are millions of such attempts on the internet everyday, yet 99.99% go unnoticed, as they are plain and boring. Millions of untalented losers thinking they are coming off like Don Rickles. Epic failures.
-
You posted the same thread a few weeks ago Asif and you were laughed out of the building.
Kindly fit yourself inside a toilet (you're so small it shouldn't be a problem) and pull the flush.
I didn't know he was Asif????

I had thought this was a serious thread devoted to the "father of the high rep squat", J.C. Hise. Apparently it's not and this in spite of my serious post regarding my use of his method.

Very old school, for sure. I Followed a similar type program, with good results, in the past.
That's 20 rep breathing squats (3 to 6 breaths between each rep), gauge the weight you normally do 10 reps with and than carry that out to 20 reps (usually one good set is all that is needed). This is a form of the Rest-Pause system, where you can use more weight than usual. Not just the legs, but the whole upper body can make gains. Most noticeable is the chest/rib box. The 20 rep, heavier weight set can become almost as much of a mental effort as a physical one. A strength of will, as it were.
With modern supplement advancements, that gallon of milk is not needed. But the calories & protein should be high enough to meet the work demands of this very brutal program. It does encourage a rapid muscle gain, fine tuning the basic metabolism, if followed correctly. Also can improve the stamina (endurance plus strength) to a degree though not possible by most BB'ers.
Only problem with this type program is that most people just don't want to work that hard in the gym. Some athletes will use this type program when muscular weight, along with strength, is needed for their individual sport in a somewhat shorter time period...off season of course... A few have been know to use a creatine/amino mix with their other supplements. Good Luck

I think it is an odd variation on the "two hands, anyhow lift" so popular many, many years ago. Olde Tyme Strongmen were the stuff of legends. The object was to get the lift. How was up to you.
Oh lord, I am olde.

Okay. I didn't mean or even hint at disrespect toward you or anyone else for that matter. Why the rolleyes smilie? Just trying to be a part of the forum but if you would prefer insults over information you will have to look elsewhere.
And I am old. Old enough to know that respect is given until it has been proven not to be deserving. I've read some of your posts. What upset you about my reply? A simple question really. Or should I PM instead and keep this off topic.
Wait! I just noticed you have John's favorite saying under your avatar. Nice. But I still want to know what I did "wrong".

Thanks. And by the way, you've only got two extra years on me but I would bet your physique easily outshines mine.
I had the chance to visit Zane's home briefly a few years ago to buy a couple of books from him. He lives not far from me in the La Mesa area of San Diego county. A very nice man, he autographed the books for the friend I was buying them for. Never met his wife, but my Physical Therapist recently told me she is still a beauty.

Shady pines. LMAO.

I've done the 20-rep breathing squat thing when I followed Stuart McRobert's routine from his "Brawn-book". It was kind of "fun" in the beginning but the stronger I got the more painful each workout got and I ended up feeling very anxious before every workout.
I get these nasty headaches, with loss of my vision, when I push myself too hard. Happened too often when I did the Brawn routine.

I am a friend of another person that used to post on here whose screen name was "Reeves", not "Bodybuilder Lex Reeves".
You are not him. If you were, we would not be having this discussion.

Thanks Johnny. I do eat a lot of "rice and beans" though - mostly borlotti, kidney and cannellini beans.
