Title: Time off the gym
Post by: Big N on July 09, 2012, 03:52:29 PM
What's the longest break you ever took from the gym? Man I'm just getting back into it after a 4 month or so lay off, diet was still not too shabby.

Took 9 months off.  Was actually great for me as I finally took the time to recovery from injuries that had been building up.  When I came back it didn't take much to get back into it.  I take a week off now every 12-14 weeks and just do cardio or super light high volume pump sets 2-3 times that week.

1 year. its hard to get back in and stay in especiallly if youve been living a reg life of drinking going out, drugs partying. you realize that being a bodybuilder fuckin sucks and who cares how big your biceps are. but once you start looking like a regular joe blow people really do start to treat you differently. and you get back to the gym cause its hard to get used to. Its amazing that people think how muscular you are is a reflection on your combat skills, lol. the deadliest guys you never see coming.

yes, I have a friend from childhood, went pro boxer an amazing street fighter too and loved it when he was young , but now as he is older tries to steer away from trouble but once he gets that sleepy look and almost starts to drift away I know its time to look out. And nobody ever sees it coming, hes about 5'6 180, looks like a reg nice guy and he is, but fuuk can he fight and hurt someone BAD.

2 weeks. I feel like shit and get depressed after that. During football season I would after practice and lift when no one else would. I know I wasn't gaining anything but once it's in your blood it's hard not to stay away.
