Any good??
-
I did it a few years ago for quite a while, I squatted three times a week. Started at 95 lbs (shut up) and went up five pounds each workout. Gained a little size but stopped when I started getting really bad headaches from it.
-
-
Very schmoe-tastic opening to that vid, musclecenter. ;D
-
Hahaha Coach Huang is a funny guy ;D
-
Musclecenter squatting in some early '90s Air Jordans.

how much weight did you work up to for 20 reps?

I think the most I ever did was 210. I think I could have progressed more without the headaches. It's really more of a mental workout. Never did figure out the source of them.

i rather not train legs at all

Probably because it stresses your CNS too much?

;D cut it out, Raymondo...

Thats nothing. Try the 100 x 135lbs squat (deep) workout instead.

I tried to do 100 with just the bar last summer once. I got to 60-something before I had to quit from an explosive lower back pump made me basically immobile.

I managed to do 118 x 135lbs and ended up with cramps in a thigh. Never again.

This.
-
I actually enjoy training legs the most I think of any workout. The problem I have is I like to run a lot in the summer and even one day a week of intensive leg training is not conducive to that (can't run hard for like half the week).
-
haha, yeah you'd better not you fucking nancy-boys, you might faint or something ;D
Big, developed legs makes your penis appear smaller. I can't believe i had to spell it out for you.
-
Only a total virgin would give a fuck about something like that. Congrats.
He could also have an unusually small penis.

and don't forget 1 gallon of whole milk per day

is there a partial virgin, as opposed to total?

If there is, he's probably related to you.
-
The one I did was where you take a weight you can do 10 reps with and do 20 and that's your quad training for the week. Brutal shit and one hell of a gut check.
-
My lifts like dl,bench, military are all ok but my squat fucking sucks so need to shake it up
-
Any good??
if you like hard work it is, legs will be sore for a week if done right....when you get to 365 by 20 you should have decent thighs by any standards.... ;D
-
Brutal, if you have a high threshold for pain then go for it. Always made me sick, and more sore then any 8-10 rep workout.
-
x2 liver tabs
Why the liver tabs hate here bros? Liver Tabs are the shit! Nice addition to your amino acid spectrum each meal, B vitamins which get severely depleted when dieting, etc.
-
Any good??
Yes. It was without a doubt the best routine I have ever done.
Highly recommended and "invented" by the one and only J.C. Hise.
-
no, but I've laughed at people who seriously think they can squat a true 10 rep max for 20 reps three times a week and not need a knee replacement. Bonus retard points for following the reccomended diet plan of a gallon of milk and ham sandwiches for every meal
If you have any functioning brain cells you can modify it to squat only once a week for a heavy set of 6-8, then a set of 20 afterwards (with your 20 rep max)
I did 405 x 20 a few times back when I was a fat powerlifter but my legs looked like Jimmy dean breakfast links

Yes x2. "Take your 10-rep max and squat it 20 times" ???

on topic, i never did this but I do sets of 20 or 30 all the time. i did this workout once which i read from t-nation, where all you do is one set for time. i used 115 and started off at 2:00, trying to add 20 seconds each week. by the end i was up to almost 5 minutes. then you would immediately go to the leg extension and do two sets of 30 with 1 minute rest in between.
most brutal leg workout i ever did by far. the leg extensions redefined pain.
-
Yes x2. "Take your 10-rep max and squat it 20 times" ???
Amen to that. ;D
If you can squat your 10-rep max 20 times, it's not your true 10-rep max.
I'd say 60% of your 10-rep max is probably closer to the real deal.
3 times a week though? Not for this guy.

Johnssy...I enjoy your posts and think of you as a brother...but I still haven't come across the published, peer-reviewed literature to convince me of this.
And taking it to another level...have you read any of the literature about the toxic properties of SUGAR? I'll try to dig up some articles and spread some Falcon love to you

Please speak on this chiro, seems to be quite the hot topic these days...

This is complicated biochemistry jargon I've come across in grad school...you wouldn't understand bro.
Not saying sugar will kill you, but there are some negative properties pertaining sugar. Just as there are positive ones. Anyone with a biochem background can see this, I'm not saying anything controversial here.
-
Yes but what are your conclusions, re: the proper usage of sugar?

If you're truly interested in attaining knowledge like me and the failcon, pm me and I'll send the link to the med journal.
I have reason to believe you are just trolling though...if so, permission granted to carry on Cephh

It is brutal...unfortunately my back gives out before my legs get tired.

20 rep squats (to failure of course) is like running wind sprints and thus releases a lot of natural GH which is helpful for us natural twinks.

What reason is that? Anyway, I don't want to read a bunch of stuff, just want to hear your well-informed opinion, Dr. Flex.

You follow me around on here like a little puppy dog. Do I have to explain every conversation between me and Falcon to you? PM me if you'd like some real info buddy, I like learning and sharing knowledge about bodybuilding. Otherwise, run along. I already said you wouldn't understand most of the info anyways.
-

to say that shows you maybe did not understand the method properly. Those last 6 reps or so are murder. You may stop at the top and breath for 20 seconds before doing the next rep. And no, they won't all be ass to grass. It's a means to shock your body and works very well.
It shows you that you can take it further than you thought. But it's only that one set, so you treat it like it will be your last one ever... And once a week, 3 times would tax your cns to shits...

For your info, cephissus is one of the smarter posters here... you noob.
And if I were you, I'd put a lid on that condescension. It's not helping your mighty cause of trying to ingratiate yourself in the fabric of thic place, on which you work so hard...

you can seriously fuck your lower back, sacrum, hips and knees by grinding out ugly lay Nortom reps in a highly fatigued state.
add in massive amounts of CNS fatigue and its way worse than just doing a regular set of 10-20 and racking the bar when you hit failure.
going all out on the legpress is way safer.. no stabilizer fatigue to deal with

We have been exchanging some friendly messages broseph...it's not that serious. I didnt think you to be so thin skinned? Thought this was the Thunderdome?

use to do this a few years back, 315 for 100 reps over 5 sets, would do usually 25 1st set, 20, 20, 20, 15...then go lay in locker room or outside on bench for like 15 minutes thinking i was gonna die. Gotta be really insane to push reps in squat, when you feel you are done at 12 and push on to twenty, brutal old school training.
-
I never liked pre exhausting too much, but the first time I did that with leg extensions before squats, I couldn't walk the next day. Doesn't necessarily means more growth, I know...

so in your opinion, what does mean more growth?

Total weight on the whole body or a large part of it, not just on an individual muscle..
More gear.
