Title: Sugar
Post by: Big N on July 16, 2012, 04:19:22 PM
Do you agree or disagree with this picture. Also, any other drinks that you'd think would go up on that list for having too much sugar in it.

sugar drink are the number 1 reason for general obesity, very simple.

if everyone drank nothing but water and ate the same, the problem would literally be smaller.

then theres morons who eat a whole watermelon and think thats healthy, just as bad.
1. Over consuming and being less active is the number one cause of obesity.  Not a specific food.  Obesity happens over time, not over night.

2.  A 5 lb watermelon only has about 400 calories or so, so eating an entire 5 lb or even 10 lb watermelon would not have much effect and would be very healthy actually as the majority is a ton of water.

Sugar is a huge waste of calories.  Lots of great substitutes for it. I love the fatties that say artificial sweetners cause cancer.... Like being a fat ass is good for you.

Orange Juice has the same caloric content as Coca Cola...of course orange juice has nutritional benefits greater than Coca Cola because of vitamin content and what-all...but it's still 160 calories per 12 ounces.

agreed on point 1, but a 5lb watermelon will have 800cals from sugar.

still, take away thecalories from sugardrinks ppl consume and that alone would greatly help.

say, 2 cans of coke and 2 beersa day less, thats quite an amount.not to mention the "coffees" served at starbucks.

ofc sugar wont make a depleted sportsman fat, but general opulation is hardly ever depleted, so where does that sugar go

NO,you are seriuously wrong.A 5 lb watermelon will have 600 kcals. And that is equivalent to drinking 1.5Liters of coke.Obviously watermelon will be far more emty since it has no artificial shit inside.

Soda AND orange juice is pure shit. People think fruit = ok to gorge on

The orange juice that most drink have added sugar, and even if it didn't it is not natural to drink the juice of several fruits in a concentrate like that.

Agreed.

What most people dont realise with the big energy/caffiene drink craze at the moment, is that you get a buzz from drinking about 10 spoons of sugar and then a mild caffiene buzz/crash half hour later - pointless shit to be drinking daily lol.
