Title: My Pal Joe (Cupof)
Post by: Armani on July 31, 2012, 09:54:50 AM
Reported benefits: (1) reduced risk of liver cancer, Alzheimer's disease and dementia, (2) reduced risk of gallstone disease, (3) reduced risk of Parkinson's disease, (4) liver protection, (5) antioxident and (6) prevention of gout and (7)  reduction in "all-cause" mortality rate.  Drink up.  Mix it the morning protein powder and blend like I do.

Although I haven't in a while, I would occasionally mix some instant coffee with my shakes.

Caffeine itself is also a mood enhancer and has a tendency to make people more agreeable, which is why coffee is a popular beverage to serve at business/sales meetings and when coming home with a date.

A smidge of espresso powder in chocolate recipes really enhances the chocolate flavor.

There's some imported Italian roast that is ground so finmely into a powder I find it to be the best for mixing.  American instants tend to have coarse/large crystals that do not dissolve so easily.

I've heard that before; even from non-coffee fans (those sick, twisted bastards).

I would imagine, too, that temperature plays a factor. Those powders likely dissolve easier in hot fluid than an ice-cold protein shake.

I can't stand the taste of coffee, not even the slightest hint of it in anything.  But, I can add this to chocolate recipes (mousse, cake, cookies, brownies, etc.) and not know it's there.  It just adds a "depth of flavor" and extra richness, which ultimately makes the dessert so rich that you end up eating less  :D

That's the finely ground coffee I was mentioning.  It's a little pricey if for everyday use.

I put that on top of Breyers Natural Vanilla Bean ice cream

It makes the best coffee ice cream

Definitely going to try that.

you'll want to mix it in a little bit and a little goes a long way

I've tried it with other brand but Breyer Natural Vanilla Bean is the best in my opinion

Have you tried Edy's light?  It's creamier IMO.

Grocery stores have entire isles (both sides) dedicated to ice cream and frozen treats here.  Must avoid.  ;D
