Question:
Hey Chris,
Some believe that muscle fascia is a major inhibitor of muscle growth at a certain point. So they preach and believe "extreme stretching" and/or injections of site enhancement oils are necessary to stretch the fascia creating space for additional muscle growth or development.
What is your take/opinion on this?
Chris Aceto:
Thank you
It’s stupid In the entire CONTEXT of muscle growth the idea " your arms can’t grow cause the fascia is so tightly bound its keeping your arms from growing?? Utter f*cking nonsense as well as the training system that supports it!
-
Well they have to call it something and have an excuse/reason for it...
Can't just put in M&F or FLEX "the NEW revolutionary, inject synthol and other anabolics straight into your delts, arms, etc system, in conjuction with insulin and growth hormone, this will propell you to new heights - by George Farrah"
FST-7 is "catchier"...
-
Never been a believer neither. It's actually quite dangerous, extreme stretching.
-
fucking fitlths and their training systems, EAT, INJECT, TRAIN, GROW.

It seems like there's a subtext to your post, dear Cyp.
Are you suggesting that assplay85 uses FST-7 as a pretext for "extreme stretching" of his chocolate starfish for the ostensible purpose of allowing "additional muscle growth", when all along the stretched echo chamber is for accepting additional BBC in his world record breaking gangbang?

Stretching is for queers who relish spontaneous public splits performed wearing tight spandex and/or skinny jeans.

Hahaha yes what I was really trying to say there, was that applyateapenis is the type of faggerina who upon noticing a local gymnast stretching on the mat (near where he is doing his pelvic floor excercies), storms over to the front desk, grabs the mic for the PA system, turns the music off, does a 48 inch vertical jump onto the desk by quickly clenching his bumcheeks, and shouts at the top of his voice "AHEM! WOULD THE 6FT GREEK GOD ON THE REEBOK MAT PLEASE REPORT TO THE SAUNA IMMEDIATELY AS YOUR MEMBERSHIP HAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED BY MY TONSILS AND MY RECTUM THANK YOU!" oh brother, gayer than not eating chick fil a in protest to their treatment of your community

You're not too bad yourself stud

The idea that you do 7 extra sets to pump the muscle to stretch the fascia is 1/2 true. The stretching the fascia is bullshit, but the fact that you just did 7 extra sets with high volume does help tear down your muscle tissue more.
-
80% of Getbig (not me) are only concerned about stretching the sphincter muscle ;D

"What's that about sphincter stretching ?"

Fascia stretching does make a difference and my friend found out the hard way when he broke the tib/fib in both his lower legs in a car accident in 2001. The swelling of his lower legs as a result of the fractures stretched his fascia to the max. And when his tib/fib healed fully many months later, he had significantly bigger calf muscles once he started working out again. So yeah, I would definitely agree that the fascia is limiting overall muscular growth.

Phil Heath's arms show that it does work. The problem is that once the oil turns on you(Cutler)there is no going back.

Who is "they"? There are studies that suggest that stretching does facilitate growth, not by bodybuilding standards of course
But it does help. For the record, when you're on drugs almost.anything works so this is a moot.point. Mr. aceto is incorrect on this case. Too much stretching causes a subluxation in joints and will do more harm.than.good.

I tend to side with Aceto, but this is definitely interesting.

Does not post studies
How do you want to have any credibility?

That's interesting. A factor in that could be that if the muscle tissue/fibers themselves(not necessarily solely the fascia stretching) swelled well beyond their normal proportions... the muscle can develop easier beyond it's pre-swelling size.
Bodybuilders would be crazy enough try to induce temporary(not oil which lasts a long time) massive swelling(through some kind of injection) in order to up their calf or other development.

No even worried "credibility" on this board. So you can take it or leave it.

This is jumping to conclusions. Your friend had compartment syndrome, usually the muscle quality is less afterwards. Did he have bigger calves in lean condition? Was he stronger? I doubt it.

I never stretch, fuck stretching. Static stretching is a waste of time and if anything impairs your lifting performance.
