Gary Johnson is...
- Polling at 5.3% nationally
- Drawing 9% of the vote in Arizona
- Getting 7% of the vote in Colorado and New Hampshire
- Polling at 13% in New Mexico
-
I see this as only hurting Romney.

Obama is probably sending him $$$$$ and laughing his ass off.
If Gary want to be the Nader of 2000 and give obama a second term, what can one say but Fuck him.
Typical spoiler bullshit.

Gary Johnson hurting Romney? Perhaps, but he can also hurt Obama. Don't forget that Gary Johnson is actually for civil liberties (unlike Obama), against unconstitutional wars (unlike Obama), and for gay marriage (unlike Obama).

Those people make up only a small portion of the democrat base.
Obama's base is made up of mostly tax sponges and parasites who will never vote for Johnson and cheer him on as he helps obama get a second term.
Why don't these "purist' voters just vote for obama and be honest about it?

The problem is most of those people are center-right. That is why I can only see this hurting Romney.

Howard - seriously/ After the last 4 years of obama's base literally accepting anything he does without so much as a peep or a question - you think they will look at GJ?
LOL. You must not know many "liberals".
-
If it's only hurting Romney, then why is Gary Johnson polling so well in Dem states (New Hampshire, Colorado, New Mexico)?

Govt workers
Abortion activists
SEIU
ACORN
Enviro marxists
Public School teachers
welfare leeches
public housing parasites
housing project locusts
etc etc
The Democrat party exists for one reason and one reason only - steal as much tax revenue from those who work and give it to the parasites of society.

Hmm. For that I have no idea. I'd be interested to know how well he's polling in GOP states, or close battleground states.

Dems are upset because they're saying he's a spoiler like Nader. They are worried about him taking votes from Obama. They didn't pull this out of their ass, they're saying this because they know people who are supporting Johnson. But 3333 and others will absolutely not listen to any of that. They are absolutely sure that both Paul and Johnson would only negatively effect Romney. ::)

Historically, the more libertarian candidates have a bigger impact on the Conservatives, because the Conservatives usually have more voters that subscribe to libertarian type values than the Democrats do.
But, this is anything but a typical election, so I could be way off.

absolutely correct and it's because of the political situation right now that I say candidates like paul and johnson will pull in votes from the left. There's a lot of people who voted for Obama who don't want to vote for him again, people who feel he broke way to many major promises and I think a lot of those people are willing to have a president Paul or Johnson. Both Paul and Johnson actually do have a pretty big following of people who respect them on the left. 3333 doesn't believe that, but I've seen it so I know it's true.

I agree, but framed in the correct way, Gov. Johnson can fracture Obama's base by running on these issues:
1. War
2. Civil Liberties
3. Social Freedoms (e.g. gay marriage)
4. Drug War
5. Fiscal Responsibility
6. Tax Reform
7. Immigration
Gov. Johnson is against the unconstitutional, undeclared, and aggressive wars waged by Bush/Obama. He isn't, however, as strictly ideological or doctrinaire as Ron Paul (which IMO is bad, but looks good to the relativists who populate the left). He is against the violations of civil liberties enacted by the Bush/Obama security state. He has been consistently for "marriage equality," unlike the flip-flops of Obama (and Romney, LOL). He is against the drug war, while Obama has been ratcheting it up. He is for fiscal responsibility, whereas Obama has a budget plan that literally NEVER balances the budget. Gov. Johnson is for the FairTax, which is a progressive tax with bipartisan support. Lastly, Gov. Johnson is for reforming the immigration system and giving all illegal immigrants amnesty, while Obama has failed majorly in this department and has resorted to a last minute executive order to pander for votes.
