OLD MAN BACK Steve Nash and Injury prone Dwight with his Worse free throw shooting percentage then Shaq wont be helping the lakers go anywhere in the play offs, Not to mention you get Meta "lets fight" world peace go gets suspended almost every year , and the up and down performance Pau Gosal , and kobe who likes to throw every player under the bus but himself when he shoots 30%

as of right now its only a paper team, there is never a team that wins right out of the gate, howard will chase the cash next year as a free agent and might not stick around with the lakers

Exactly. The same few teams always get all the superstars they want while the rest have to slowly build up a team the old fashioned way. The lakers literally never go more than a few seasons without being in the finals. If they start losing for a while, they magically land miraculous trades for superstars and are back on top again. Its a joke

When dwight is getting 2 touches a game he is going to be whining. Kobe just can't share the ball, even with Nash. I am a huge lakers fan but I don't see much of an upgrade from Bynum to Howard. There were games Bynum could have dominated but Kobe can't share.

They want to play in front of movie stars in the perfect California weather. They know that they are going to get even more rich, even more famous, and win more championships than any other team.
People want to call Lakers fans hypocrits because they gave Lebron shit for forming a so-called super team in Miami. Look, players want to join Kobe's team becasue he is a legend and a proven winner. Kobe doesn't jump ship and join their teams. That's the difference between LA's new super team and Lebron and Bosh going to Miami.

No, howard will calm down , he s really lucky the nba is rigged and to have been sent in LA after all the damage he did to his own image all by himself. The problem will be that they wont gel together fast enough to win anything. Nash and kobe are too old, OKC and miami, clippers and others teams are younger and getting better... I doubt howard will get enough support from two elderlies on the court for a whole season.

Dwight isn't going anywhere but even if he did you are missing the more important issue. The Lakers are a great organization.
They have a great owner who is willing to spend money, they have a great GM, they have a great history, they have a great city. The Lakers always re-load and get top level talent and get back to the top quickly. The best players want to come there. They have been in roughly half of the NBA Finals ever played and they've won roughly half of the NBA Finals that they have been in. You obviously haven't watched a lot of Basketball in the last 50 years or you would know this.

I'm not sure what we are disagreeing about. I never called the Mitch Kupchak or Jerry Buss a "genius". However, I think people that know the NBA and are around the game understand what a great owner Jerry Buss is. He refuses to lose. Also, I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone that doesn't think Mitch Kupchak is among the best GMs in the league. He proves it year after year. Look at the trade they made to get Gasol in 2008. That was a steal. Also, Orlando could have traded Dwight Howard to Houston or Brooklyn or Dallas. These aren't free agent signings. Mitch made the deals. You are acting as if this stuff just fell in his lap which isn't true at all. You say that we get top talent because we are "The Lakers". That's true but there is a reason that we are "The Lakers". It's an organization that is well run and it starts at the top.

This. The only reason the lakers are always 'great' is that they get opportunites and breaks that most other franchises can only dream of.
This typical smug laker fan wants to laugh at the spurs accomplishments..a franchise in a small market whos actually had to construct a team little by little the old fashioned way, and still managed to win multiple championships competeing against teams like LA who literally gets any players they want and exist in a totally differrnt world than the rest of the nba. When was the last big free agent signing the spurs landed? When was the last time they landed a superstar in a blockbuster trade? Look at the guys who won them titles..aside from duncan, every other key peice was picked and developed thru sheer brilliance..parker was like pick number 30 and unheard of..ginobili was an unheard of second round pick...bruce bowen was a no name journeyman..the spurs put a band of no namers and late draft picks around duncan and won multiple titles. Considerng LA and its priviledged position, getting any free agents they want, always benefiting from absurdly lopsided blockbuster trades, et et...kobe always having the biggest and best starting lineup in the league around him, yeah id say winning titles under these circumstances isnt all that impressive.
The lakers may have a big 'fan' base but they are also undisputedly the most hated team in the league.

Agree. When Kyrie Irving becomes a free agent he is leaving Cleveland. No one wants to stay there. The Lakers will grab him him a couple of years. Same with Anthony Davis from the Hornets. The Lakers are using the rest of the NBA teams as their own personal farm system.
