No, I did my last contest October last year........and I feel I've done my share after about 35 shows. Got nothing more to 'prove' and not getting any younger..........and I dont feel I'm missing out on anything.
I will do a photo shooth next month though.......for Oxygen mag (workout for pregnant women), so that will be lots of fun :)

Thank you! I really enjoy this pregnancy and I try to stay positive and have fun with it. It's a GIRL and we can't wait to meet her in only 3 1/2 months........
I will do a couple of pregnant shoots for Oxygen magazine in 2 weeks which will be fun :)

But the most MEMORABLE would be a crazy shoot in the middle of Time Square. It was October and cold...........and me posing in a red bikini. It was packed with people, too.....fun memory........and my best memory CONTEST wise as well -- 3rd place at my first Olympia'97 :)

I was 9 when I started competitive swimming up until 16 years
Started gym training at 16......Competed in my first bodybuilding show at 22 years old.......first fitness show at 25 years old....

I've actually enjoyed this pregnancy since day one......and now 31 weeks along. I'm first now starting to feel a bit uncomfortable when walking, working, bending etc....but hey I guess thats VERY normal :) I'm still doing some personal training (prob another month) but I take it easy on my own training for now.....Hopefully the deliverey will go as smoothly ---- NOOOT!!

Lena it is so hot here. It hasn't been under 80 for at least a month. The sold the Gold's here. The new owners know nothign about the gym business. But at least they are spending some on more equipment. Me and a guy are looking at another location to open anpther gym. It is a closed down movie theater. We'll see.

Warm is niiiiiice!! Its been pretty warm in LA this week as well.......75ish (some 80 even).....feels good after so much rain!!

I was just in hawaii (oahu) a few months ago with my room mate, You may know her, Jennifer Chamberlin, she is a fitness model also.
I was born on Oahu, moved to Kauai, then moved to Maui.
Now i live with jen in vegas. This is a picture of Jennifer Chamberlin ,Carmen Garcia,and myself, in vegas when Carmen stayed with us.

I too love Kauai. My friend owns Anchor Cove and J'J's Broiler right there. I've been to every island except Niihau which isimpossible anyway. If you want to have a very memorable time hike down to Kalaupapa on Molokai. It is an awesome hike. Very hard but the view is the best in the world. And the hostory of that place is something else. It is the most desolute location on earth. It is beautiful. The pic is me on the trail with one of the nurses that go down to the village. The other is the tour guide who drives the bus around town. He was taken in the 50's on the way to school and never seen his family since.
It has been snowing here the past few days. So much they closed the roads up on Mauna Kea. I'm trying to get some pics to post of the snow. Maui to is very nice. I call it the blond island cause every blond tourist who comes to Hawaii is there. Lena if you go to Maui tell me so I can setup some stuff for you to do there. My business partner is there and he can get you just about anything.
Lanai I have only been once. Not for me. Hardly anything to do. Very small too. I guess as a romantic place it is nice but I like Kauai for that and even Maui. I miss Oahu though. I like allot of people around me and it has so much to do. The Big Island is okay but even it is getting old for me here. I love the lava which is flowing really good right now. It is fun to drive around the island though. The water is so clear here too. But, if you come back tell me.

He is so happy i finally picked a spot. I have never been to that Island , so this will be exciting for us.Does anyone know of any hot beaches,caves,hikes,snorkling,bars,hidden beach where we can run around naked..?????lol

We stayed at the Waikoloa Hilton on the Big Island and it was amazing! (For our Honeymoon)...its a huge resort! If you ask 'OnlyMe" niiiiiiicely, maybe he'll give you a few tips.....he lives there ;)

The Hilton Waikoloa is by far my favorite hotel in Hawaii. It was the first hotel I stayed at off island. I did a commercial there and thats where they put me up for 3 days. It is absolutely awesome. I love it. You don't even have to leave that area anymore there is so much to do there. The beach there is nice to. The night walks through the grounds are unreal. You have to go to Hawi and hike down to the cove. Great place. The lave is going off now too. It has been snowing the past few days and in March their should be plenty of snow. Tour around Parker Ranch too, it is interesting. And you guys have to go to Hilo side and check out all the waterfalls. Beautiful scenery. You have to eat at Roy's at the King Village just outside of the Waikoloa resort. It is the best restaurant in Hawaii. I go to Roy's on Oahu and it is always voted one of the top restaurants in the world. Also I still think the whales are going off in that month so check them out. I'm not at Gold's anymore or I could get you some free tckets to things. I usually just trade out memberships for whatever I want. Also, be sure to take a day at the Kohala Spa at the Hilton. It is awesome.

Awesome info!!! The SPA is a MUST at Hilton.......we got a wedding gift there - Honeymoon package (awwwwwwwwww) and it ended with a couple massage outside overlooking the beautiful ocean!!!
I also loved Bubba Gump reastaurant in Kona Village. Ask for a table outside right on the water.........niiiiice!!

Yes the Hilton was just $110 Kama'aina rate. But now they have really cracked down on locals getting their mainland friends the discount. I would do it for you cause I always used to but I just tried last week at the Mauna Lani and they check to make sure you check in and are actually staying at the hotel. especially the higher priced ones. The Kea Lani on Maui, my brother went there for his honeymoon. The rooms were $1,200 a night and I got them at 50% off. Saved him a ton a dough for 2 weeks. That was back in 1997 or so. A round of golf there was $360 a round. But the Waikoloa I thinik is the best hotel defintiely on The Big Island. And no hotels on Oahu come close either. Maui has a few pretty nice ones.

We're doing great! I'm having the time of my life! Such a big change and such a blessing.....I love seeing all her little changes every day. The best was the first day she cracked a big smile.....so cute!
I'm back in the gym working out myself 5-6 days a week, and lost about all the pregnancy weight. Still need to tighten up a bit, but it will come...

No offense to you or your cute little "cub", but in my judgement now isn't exactly the time to raise a child in this society. I assume that motherhood is a meaningful experience, but babies in the 21st Century are born at a real disadvantage.
I was simply wondering did you return to your nativ norway since your career is presumably completed or are you still stuck in the states.

I made my observation based on the belief I have that times have significantly changed since the nostalgic old-fashion era when the majority of people believed in old-school behavior.
Society could slow down so that the innocent cubs and kids who grow up in all the industrial chaos, could have a safer environment to live in with the small amount of decent old folks that are in the population.

Good guess - she is 13 months now :) Just started walking and getting quite a personallity......
No, I have NO plans on stepping back on stage.......but I did a shoot before xmas, so modeling is still fun :) Not so easy to get the workouts in when I'm a stay at home Mom, but a little is better than nothing ;)

Lena Johannesen really made her presence felt on the pages of the best magazines in bodybuilding from 1997 throughout the years after that in the late 90's when I used to buy up all those issues. It's still hard to forget YOUR training features in Muscle & Fitness because I liked the coverage that Weider gave you. It is odd that you finished 3rd in the 1997 Fitness Olympia and never placed higher. I can only assume one reason is perhaps a few judges didn't get what they wanted from your body besides watching you do those quarter turns in high heels and a revealing one-piece swimsuit.
Since I assume you still reside in California, I hope that you don't live there when the next big earthquake does devastating damage and ruins people's lives in LA County and Orange County.

Judges probably don't deserve to have sexual access to your well developed body or any other competitor. They still are only human and when a erotic display of fitness gets inside your head, then ideas are taken too far and you end up having people I will not openly name in cyberspace who have reluctantly engaged in the "pay a day" habit of giving sexual favors for more than one reason :-X

I am sorry that I placed such a unspoken undeniable "urban legend" in this fitness forum because I did that without alluding to ANYONE who has done things that are voluntary and consentual. I just posted my previous message without mentioning who has gone to what lengths to impress the judges out of respect for your privacy. I definitely am not going anywhere near the sometimes true and false gossip that the IFBB pro undercover character did by giving revealing answers to questions that many interlopers asked about how the fitness industry quietly operates. I understand that sensational facts and rumors of an intimate nature about who has done what it takes to compete consistently are supposed to remain under the radar screen. I truely know that it is uncomfortable and very awkward for many who gained name recognition in the magazines years BEFORE AND AFTER the new millenium to admit that being finantially successful and also marketable is just simply a matter of preparing and performing like one of the most talented athletes.
