In 2002 when Bush was trying to pass his own stimulus plan Ryan said in an interview The Journal Times:
“You have to spend a little to grow a little. What we’re trying to do is stimulate that part of the economy that’s on its back.”
http://www.journaltimes.com/news/local/article_f99faa8c-bc03-5870-a360-58a4f7213ea0.html#ixzz1Y2nP86sE
He also went to the floor of the House and pleaded that
The things we’re trying to pass in this bill are the time-tested, proven, bipartisan solutions to get businesses to stop laying off people, to hire people back, and to help those people who have lost their jobs. . . .
We’ve got to get the engine of economic growth growing again because we now know, because of recession, we don’t have the revenues that we wanted to, we don’t have the revenues we need
so apparently he thought stimulus worked just fine as long it was a Republican POTUS that was proposing these "time tested and proven bipartisan solutions"

Ouch. Tough to defend those statements.

not really, obama's a communist marxist and all you liberal pieces of garbage STFU and die? see not too tough ;D

Ouch. Tough to defend those statements.
Isn't this just par for the course for Ryan
maybe at the same time he learned that Ayn Rand was an atheist and he said the following he also learned that "time-tested, proven, bipartisan solutions" were really a "wasteful spending spree"....though of course no apologies for advocating a wasteful spending spree when Bush was in office. He just didn't know any better at that time
“I reject her philosophy,” Ryan said this year. “It’s an atheist philosophy. It reduces human interactions down to mere contracts and it is antithetical to my worldview. If somebody is going to try to paste a person’s view on epistemology to me, then give me Thomas Aquinas…Don’t give me Ayn Rand.”
Since Ryan now says we should give him Thomas Aquinas rather than Ayn Rand I guess we can assume he agrees with this statement
“Man should not consider his material possession his own, but as common to all, so as to share them without hesitation when others are in need.” — St. Thomas Aquinas

Like I've been consistently pointing out in these forums... Paul Ryan is a typical politician with no core values.

But surprisingly you have no problem defending Obama's constant flip-flopping. Your posts are beyond comical at this point.

This is true. He's got a lot of work to do to catch up to the Usurper, though.

If Obama is the top of the shit pile, these guys aren't far off anymore.
The Republicans had the PERFECT guy and they just keep pushing him down.

I want to disagree with you. his voting record, I could excuse, he was just agreeing with Bush and being a yes man.
His lies this week? I'll chalk that up to Romney campaign making him retreat from honest positions. being a yes man.
I believed he would follow the tea party tenets, despite his voting record. I still believe he will. I dont have any track record to base this on, just a feeling I had.
it's not like his VP nomination was bought for $100 mil or anything.

He fits Romney

Funny how obamabots and slaves want to hold Ryan to a different standard than their God King and Idol.

Well you do if he didnt excist you would have to 20+ hours every day to fill in

I think Ryan would be the most competent president out of all 4 people on the tickets.
I just wish he'd quit this fuckin lying - Shrug off past inconsistencies. Don't be all squirelly with "I don't recall"... That doesn't work anymore. In this era of youtube, if you said it, you own it. He was dodging that Q for days - which meant his team and him knew very well about his past statements. Denying it because he thinks it won't come out? Very weak.
Just be honest and own it - ppl will understand he was just being a yes man to Bush. Who hasn't been a yes Man to their boss? He can't claim to be a maverick or bold or brave - but simple competence he can. Stick with that.

You wouldnt have commented on it either if i hadnt pointed it out...
You are so fucking weak in your stances its not even funny.. you have no political stances at all.. No core values which is evident in your "sources"
You have a personal vendetta with Obama like the Joker has with Batman. You need him to exisit to validate your life. At all costs.. So what you put two lame ass politicians up to run against Obama.. who cares, as long as they are anti Obama, were good and we can look over look how awful they are all in the name of shitting on Obama... Your integrity meter is at zero. Dude stand for something... and post on it even if it happens to be moderate or go against Repubs...You cant comment on a flaw of a republican with out bringing up Obama."but but but.. Obama did it too"... Got damn it man... Start seeing Politicians for what they are and stop thinking that the worlds problems will be solved with the ousting of Obama and the implementation of Douche and Doucher who have thus far shown not to be very different that what we have currently in the white house. Fuck man this is getting just plain on sad watching you with this retarded shit..
-
I'd really like a reporter to ask Ryan exactly how and why he changed his mind on spending money to stimulate the economy (keep in mind that the plan he's so passionately advocating for included Bush's idea to just mail checks to everyone in the country) and why the deficit didn't matter at that time
I'd follow up with asking him if he feels responsibility for our current fiscal situation since he went along with virtually every Republican proposal which had the result of increasing the deficit and the debt
After that, I'd like to ask his running mate exactly when he changed his mind on abortion rights and also when and why he moved from the left of Ted Kennedy on gay rights all the way over to the far right on the issue

I wonder why he changed his tune when Obama took office. Typicaly partisan politics?
I can imagine when Romney delivers a stimulus - He'd call it "industry boost" or something - Ryan will be selling it with a smile.
-

I know that. The point is you're foolishly attempting to use this video to justify Obama's stimulus by using Ryan's video and, in the process, claim that Ryan's opposition to Obama's stimulus (which has been proven to be a FAILURE) somehow makes him a hypocrite.
Obama's stimulus didn't work "just fine", as we have 43 straight months of 8% (or higher) unemployment to prove it. Nice try.

Where did I say this video justifies Obama's stimulus ?
I posted it to point that Ryan, like all Repubs are in favor of certain things when their guy is in office and totally opposed to those same things when the Dems are in office.
In other words - Party before Country
Since Obama's stimulus was almost 40% tax cuts I guess we can conclude that tax cuts do not stimulate the economy

when was that chart created?

No - Obama took a lot of this shit from his corrupt friend John Podesta that had this shit in the works for awhile.
I know you are generally the least informed person on this board, but fuck man - do some reading for gods sake.

Ryan was in favor of an 800 billion stimulus in 2002?
This is why ThinkProgress and MSNBC are certified jokes. Trying to use Ryan's words against him, ultimately to defend Obama's stimulus, is downright laughable. Please remind me what unemployment was back in the early 2000 and what it is now.
BTW, what happened during the 2002 midterms vs the 2010 midterms, if we're comparing advocacy for stimuli?
-

so no, this chart was not created with a month or so of getting into office but somehow it was created as a sale pitch for the stimulus plan......which was passed on February 17th 2009
And you're aware of course that we didn't even have the correct #'s on how much GDP had fallen at that time until about 18 months after Obama was in office
-
Just like Obama - in other words
no, just like virtually every other Republican
Voting in direct opposition to their previously held beliefs is solely a characteristic of the modern day Republican party.
I'm if Romney get's elected and decides we need another stimulus that suddenly all Repubs will once again get on board

Ryan called fiscal stimulus - extending unumployment, helping people with insurance coverage and actually just mailing people checks, "time tested and proven to work"
when Obama came to office and the problems were MUCH worse all of a sudden these time tested and proven things were "wasteful spending". He didn't say he was in favor of them but it was just too much money. He said they didn't work
-

As opposed to Obama, staring pastor Rick Warren dead in the face, claiming he believes marriage is between a man and a woman; four years later, he tells Robin Roberts, he favors gay "marriage". Apparently, the Dems didn't get the memo that such was just a GOP thing (BTW, how many of those Dems who now support gay "marriage", voted for the Defense of Marriage Act again?).

And, Team Obama JUST PROVED it didn't work. How long has unemployment been at least 8% (the very level to which Obama said it would NEVER exceed)?
-
wasn't TARP a stimulus bill too? Or did TARP more of a rescue and stim more of a help for firms not yet in trouble?
repubs only support taxpayer handouts some of the time?

and unlike Romney (and Ryan for that matter) Obama explained exactly why he had a change of heart on this position
that's all I'd like to hear from Romney and Ryan is why they changed their minds
And, Team Obama JUST PROVED it didn't work. How long has unemployment been at least 8% (the very level to which Obama said it would NEVER exceed)?
not meeting a projection (especially when post creation it was shown to have been based on incomplete data) is not a big suprise and in fact is the expected outcome.
projecation are just that -projections. They are never 100% right and rarely even close.

We know why Obama had his change of heart: Political expeidency. The coffers were low and the gays were going to take their dollars and walk. Not to mention, the polls weren't looking that good for him. He thinks it's safe to support gay "marriage" and is banking that black voters will still lockstep for him in large numbers.

I never said that
I think what I said is very clear
projections are never perfect and rarely even close
I don't think the stimulus failed and I draw that conclusion from the long list of Republicans who begged for money and said it was succesful in saving and creating jobs and stimulationg their local economies
