Chechen here. We have an extremely libertarian and warrior-like culture. 2 wars were fought to gain independence from Russia, and roughly 150,000, or 15% of the total population (perhaps 8-10% of our global population) was killed in the decade long conflicts starting in 1994. A LOT of traditions and culture in the old country has broken down due to the wars and the best examples of Chechen culture are usually found in diaspora communities not directly affected by war. So between Russian martial law, and the puppet president Ramzan Kadyrov's mafia law, you get guys with too much testosterone doing stupid shit like what you see in the video. It's very sad and the Russians and their Chechen lapdogs have (and the wahhabis on the other side) have done so much to destroy the country. Thank God though, that there isn't still a war going on so there's some semblance of a normal life. At least kids don't need to worry about landmines and spetznas on the way to school. But Chechens have been through much worse in the past so there's still hope.
Anyone who says we are barbarians is just totally ignorant. I'd welcome anyone with those views to a debate/conversation.
