Title: Drive was a damn good movie

Drive was snubbed by the Oscars but IMO it deserved Best Actor (Gosling), Best Supporting Actor (Brooks) and Best Movie.

The movie reminded me of Steve Mcqueen's Bullit in the way the movie unfolds with little dialogue at times and the car chase (though not as good as the Bullit Chase)

Gosling is able to keep your attention without saying a word - just like Steve McQueen.

This scene below comes out of nowhere and the violence is unexpected.

Dude...dude...seriously a great film. Very cool how little dialogue there was, gave the movie a realistic vibe.

Nice homage to the 70's - early 80's pictures, but still not as good as them.

loved the movie but expected something much better for the end.

realistic?  I guess.  But a guy so shrewd the whole time just allows it to go down like that?

I liked the movie but the soundtrack was fucking awful.

Serious fucked up music ...I think if the made the music better instead of artsy fartsy it would have done better.

I am Danish. The Danish director of Drive, Nicholas Winding Refn, has made som great movies also before making Drive. Check out his Pusher movie series.

Was definitely the best movie last year and got screwed over by the awards.

Refn is directing another movie with Gosling leading so it should be pretty good.

I think the music was the best part of the movie...just to add...it tried too hard to be too many different things at once

watched it with a mate and we both wondered what all the fuss was about, a couple of good scenes but overall seriously boring and uneventful

I will agree with you quad, Bullitt has the best car chase scene of all time, throw in the fact McQueen did his own driving, and that shit is badass. Drive was good, but yeah, homeboy talked about as much as Arnold in Terminator 1.

Fucking LOVE that movie!!!  So well made, and the soundtrack is excellent too.


Apparently the elevator fight scene is hailed as one of the greatest movie scenes of all time.
