Queen,Sheer Heart Attack tour 1975. No band to this day has impressed me with the combination showmanship , vocal skill , Musical talent, Versatility!
-
Big 4 at Yankee Stadium 2010
-
I know I will take some stick for this, but my three favourite gigs of all time are:
1. Def Leppard - 3 continents in one day gig, The Bottom Line Club, Shepherds Bush, London, October 1995. The band made it into the Guinness Book of Records for the fastest ever world tour (a record that still stands to this day I believe.)
2. Def Leppard - Tower Records store, Piccadilly, London, November 1996. An exclusive fan club members only gig.
3. Def Leppard - Songs From The Sparkle Lounge album launch party/gig, Islington Academy, Islington, London, May 2008. Without knowing I was captured cheering on their first ever live album entitled Mirror Ball - Live & More.
Note: The gig they played in London last December with Motley Crue was probably the best sounding concert I have ever attended.
-
White Lion in Copenhagen 1992, Life of Agony Roskilde Festival hmm maybe 1996, Yngwie Malmsteen Copenhagen around 2004, Ben Harper Copenhagen around 2006, and MUSE at Roskilde 2006ish.
-
Slayer in 1994 - although I have to admit that seeing a band like Slayer in Vienna is kinda like Mozart in Brooklyn.
Would have preferred seeing them in the states because for me rough Metal is all American.
-
Cuby and the Blizzards
-
TSOL - Omaha Ranch Bowl in 2002.
-
Marilyn Manson at Riviera Theater in Chivago a few years back.
Really small venu for like 2,000 people. Amazing show.
-
Michael Jackson in Bucharest, 1996.
-
.Foghat/Blue Oyster Cult in 1982. .Had me snapping my fingers and dancing around.
-
Paco de Lucía at Royal Festival Hall London.
-
Pink Floyd at Foxboro/Gilette Stadium in '94.
-
Boyzone @ Wembley. Amazing atmosphere with 100.000 queers.
-
Rolling Stones in Atlantic City for Steel Wheels tour.
They played "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" with Eric Clapton, Slash, Axl and the dude from Blind Melon.
This was very epic for a 13 year old into Rock 'n Roll.
Saw Pink Floyd in '94.
Saw Radiohead this year.
Am seeing Peter Gabriel, the Patron Saint of Rock 'n Roll this month.
-
AC MOTHER FUCKING DC!!!!
End of thread
-
Michael Jackson in Bucharest, 1996.
such a happening back then, i saw that concert dvd countless times.
-
.Foghat/Blue Oyster Cult in 1982. .Had me snapping my fingers and dancing around.
actually what had you snapping your fingers and dancing around was your high rating on the Kinsey scale.
-
Either when Pearl Jam opened for GnR or Michael Jackson on his Bad tour in LA.

Any one of several Slayer concerts, not the biggest fan of their albums, but their live show is kick ass.
Lamb of God had a pretty good show.
Killswitch Engage sounds amazing live, too bad most of their shit after the 1st album has gone downhill.
Children Of Bodom puts on an amazing show, although sometimes theyre so drunk that I'm not sure how they play what they do.

I like your taste in music!

Best ever: Tool, in Ottawa Ontario, in a press box. I was high as a kite, and when Parabola came on, I looked down on the floor and people were swarming in what looked like a giant vortex. Trippiest, coolest, best band I've ever seen play live. They are so tight, it's ridiculous.
I have three selfish "Make a Wish" wishes if I die:
1. play drums for Tool during a show alongside Danny Carey
2. get to do batting practice at Fenway
3. find out what really went on at the Ice Machine. It's like bodybuilding's version of the shooting of JFK.
-
FAt Boys, L.L. Cool J., Whoodini and Doug E. Fresh

Metallica in '86 or early '87 during the Master tour. A small 2000 seat club with Metal Church opening.
Venom, Slayer and Labyrinth ( a local band ) in a small club here in '84 or '85 was pretty killer as well.
If I had to pick another, I'd probably say DLR on the Eat'em and Smile tour. I despise DLR as a musician but Sheehan and Vai had to be seen.
Al DiMeola on the World Sinfonia Tour was amazing as well.
-
2. get to do batting practice at Fenway
I've done that one!
-
I've done that one!
Do you bat left or right? I don't know which would be cooler - hitting it over the Monster, or putting it into Williams' corner.
That center field wall is deep out there, and high!
I envy you.
-
Not sure if it counts as a concert, but the Woodstock anniversary show. When Metallica came on and the fuckers burnt the place down. Luckily I was in the VIP tent.

I bat lefty. It was 15 swings from a pitching machine, with no rest in between pitches. It was over before I knew it. One hopped the 380 for a ground rule double, and put one into the middle of the triangle. The rest were a few pulled fouls, singles, grounders, and maybe 2-3 wiffs. I was swinging out of my shorts.
Played about 4 games of softball there too. Those were amazing, except they used the pitching machine again, with two pitches max. Any foul, etc was an out. The thing did not throw very many strikes. Best hit was a one hop ground rule double that missed the Pesky Pole by a few feet. With regular pitching and the bats I use today, I could hit a couple out if given 10 or so swings.
The inner parts of that park are a complete shit hole.

i was like 15-16 and saw the good girls. :-*

Rob, I saw Fates, at a tiny club in Boston waaay back when "Night on Brocken" came out (1985) 1st row in front of John Arch.. They were unreal.
Rush, I saw many times, I'm going to their tour opening show tomorrow in Manchester, NH. (Free parking at my bud Ted Arcidi's place).
Never saw Accept, wish I had.. Huge fan from back in the day...
My favorite was 1983 - Molly Hatchet and The Outlaws, outside in Kingston New Hampshire fairgrounds.
Salem MA Hells Angels were everywhere partying it up..
Damn, I'm getting old.. ??? ???

I would have killed to see Prince in 1982....
It was cool. Ticket was $8. I went to 2 others as well one in 1994. That was the best actually because it was just 4 people in the band and no horn section. It was stripped down and very guitar heavy.

Every single band you named kicks ass.
Agree with all. KSE started sucking after 1st cd.
-
If I had a choice which concert to attend it would be:
Monsters of Rock, Moscow 1991
1.6 million people
200 rapes, 11 deaths and countless beatings.
-
Saw that at Giants Stadium.
x2
...but pretty sure it was Kindom Come{sounded like a Zep rip off band}and not Dokken.

Wow, what I wouldn't do to see Fates ALL the way back when you did.
Hope you have/had fun at the Rush gig. :)

holy shit that takes me back!

The band quite simply rocked shit out live. The records don't do the band justice (and I do love the albums).
If you're interested, the guitar player, Greg Fraser, and bassist, Stevie, now record as Fraze Gang. The second CD, Fraze Gang 2, was just released. It's pretty cool. My only complaint is Greg sings and his voice kinda bugs me.

It was both Kingdom Come and Dokken.

I hate to admit it but I bought that cassette.

Stevie Ray Vaughn & Double Trouble at the Beacon Theater in Dec 1984. 2nd row, just left of center aisle.
Mike Stern at the 55 Bar more times than I can recall.
Jaco Pastorius at the Blue Note
Joe Henderson at Fat Tuesdays
-
Best concerts I saw were at small clubs:
Slayer played Atlas in Boston for about 200 people, but the fuckers almost went three hours anyway. Front "row" standing against a small barricade.
Pantera at some place about the size of a gymnasium. Fought my way to the font and leaned against the barricade with the crowd pushing for so long I still have a scar right under my chest 18 years later.
Aerosmith, Deep Purple and GnR at Giants stadium for big venues.

Friend of mine was BR's tour bus driver. Told me one time a bunch of hot chicks were following the bus one time because they thought the drummer was Jon Bon Jovi.
