i didnt catch that game or get a chance to catch the stats yet. but i had a feeling the hype based on the lack of preseason performance for the jets was nonsense.

Yes, it definately was...

The Defense looks tremendous this year, and the Offensive Line has improved a lot...and Tebow is useless  8)

While i have to concede the defense sucked ass, those replacement refs are HORRIBLE.  The crew we got is one of the WORST.  They were the ones who threw the most flags of any crew in the pre season.

Lets go Manning tonight!!!!!

and not a soccer fan in the world gave a fuck.  that's sad, since i played football for about 7 years.  the college game is worth watching, though.

Pats are gonna put a world of hurt on the Jets, *yawn* again. Brady threw the first 2 of about 40 td's today on there way to 16-0.

i take it your a packers fan..   hey, you cant be too upset.. the niners are the best team in the league now that smith isnt making stupid mistakes..   and you guys almost came back and won it..  better you start a bit slow and end great than start great and end poorly (like last season).. i look forward to the rematch between our two teams.. i think the giants got lucky last year.. both our teams were superior..

and yeah.. those refs were just plain garbage. horrible calls going both ways though, so it evens out in the end.

Patriots fans are generally delusional, they think they are still a "dynasty" despite not winning a Super Bowl in seven going on eight years.

Regardless of them winning the Super Bowl, who's the more dominant team? They are in it every single year. Who's your team?

HA! you're just lucky kyle williams kept the niners out of the super bowl last year. the way that defense was playing, theniners would've destroyed the pats in the super bowl, just like this will this december.  The 49ers are winning the super bowl, fyi.

HUGE fan...but the calls were bullshit in most cases.  GB got hit with more than SF.  You get so many flags the rhythm of the game is disrupted.  Hard to keep coming back from that.

I do hope Detroit spanks you with Megatron!!!

Not going to happen.  Quick question, whats the over/under for games Moss will be with the 49ers?  ;D

based on today's performance looks like Moss is going to be fit in REAL NICE.. look for 1,000+ yards from him this year..  8) 8)

I will give you this the niners have the most depth of any team in football this season...so many talented players on both sides of the ball.

Agree SF is loaded, but Alex smith is your QB so you will not win the big one,if SF got manning they would of won 2 super bowls... SF will be one and done again because of smith and please no dilfer comments thanks :D

Niners made GB look sad and now they have to play Chicago.  No rest for GB.  I love how GB fans complained about the refs but the refs called a good game.  They didn't allow GB to get away with the bullshit they used to.

RGIII.  Well, throwing passes behind the line of scrimmage should be considered hand offs.  But NO had no pressure on him, none.

I am complaining because the refs were shit for BOTH sides.  Geezus, almost 90 minutes for the first half.  More penalties were called for GB than SF, and there were ones that SHOULD have been called on SF.  I admitted we looked like shit, so I am not using the refs as a total excuse.  Who can run against SF?  Very, very few.  Certainly not GB who is really not well known for a run game.

GB run?  They never even tried.  I think they had something like 15 rushes and those were feeble attempts.  The reason GB had more penalties is that they played a little dirty. They tried to out rough the niners and it didn't work.  But the refs were no better or worst than the normal refs.  The normal refs stunk like shit last year.

Jennings got shutdown.  I think any defense in the NFL would take GB when Jordy is the number 1 option.

Philly who many picked to win or go to the SB also looked like shit.  I would assume the hype about Vick would die down sooner than later.  If the browns had a decent QB they would have won.

Denver , I hate.  I hate them and hate the more with Manning, but fuck if that team stays healthy they can be scary.  The defense is solid, crazy rushers, decent running game.  Time will tell if Manning's arm can hold up for 16+ games.

Tonight the Chargers and Raiders should be fun.

go look at the numbers, but alex smith performed better than every other qb against the ny giants in the playoffs.  better than brady, better than rodgers...he outperformed drew brees to win a game...alex smith is a winning quarterback, its not his fault he was mired in horrific coaching with no weapons for the first part of his career.

niners winning super bowl.

He was rehabbing his neck for a full year.  He will either get stronger and better as the season goes on or his nerve damage gets worst.

As for Alex smith.  Baltimore won a SB with Trent Dilfer , so anything is possible.

Alex isnt the same guy that he was two years ago. He played good ball last year. and he outgunned rodgers yesterday. with an improved recieving core and at least 2 pro bowl quality running backs.. all he has to do is show up.

^ Alex smith will be the reason the 9ers dont win the SB... every other position is loaded and SF will not be able to keep that D together more than another year with free agency. I am really happy for you and that town though that team went through hell with Nolan and the "we believe slogan" that seemed to be like 10 years

I stand by my statement though in today's NFL you will not win a super bowl with a "game manager" the weak NFC west yes, the SB no

Also I don't see a warm weather team going into a chi,gb,phi in jan and winning so home field is a must too and they don't beat NO last year if that game was at NO

Why try and run against the SF defense?  How did they play any dirtier than SF??  Geezus man, did you see the hit Rogers took and there was no "roughing the passer" called.  Again, our defense SUCKED.  Thats the problem.  What changed from last year?  Not too much.  The refs yesterday were bad...even the announcers were commenting.
