Title: Zeus, the worlds TALLEST dog!
Post by: bradistani on September 13, 2012, 11:46:36 AM

Guinness World Records 2013: US Great Dane is planet's tallest dog
Zeus, a 44-inch tall Great Dane from Michigan, has been officially recorded as the planet's tallest dog in the latest edition of the Guinness Book of World Records.

The Great Dane, who towers 2.2m (7ft 4") on his hind legs, has been named the tallest dog ever recorded in the latest Guinness Book of World Records launched on Thursday.

Measuring 1.12m from paw to withers – the point between the shoulder blades at which the official height of a four-legged mammal is judged – Zeus is officially the tallest dog in the world, the volume claims.

Guinness World Records 2013 says the towering hound breaks the record of Giant George, another Great Dane who is one inch shorter.

"The most common thing people ask is: 'Is that a dog or a horse?'" says the three-year-old's owner Denise Doorlag.

Dog needs epic leanz for the hoe dogs in the neighborhood. Epic leanz scores srs bishes.

All olive oil/grape seeds, lasix and clenbuterol/anavar stack. I heard Hany dialed him in for the photoshoot with some FST-7.

I have two buddies with Danes. One is pretty diesel. The other has massive back problems, he's had quite a few surgeries and spent nearly 40k on fixing him.

back problems inherent in the breed ?

we had a dalmatian when i was a kid which had serious back (or maybe pelvis) problems that made it walk all fucked up. apparently it's a common place problem with that breed.

Its only 8 months...wait till about 2-3 yrs. And the dog won't last that long past 5-6 yrs.
Due to the fact that dogs are mutated wolves, and in the wild they really were supposed to get that big and heavy, these animals have hip, back, leg problems. Like weiner dogs have back and hip problems due to their long back, short legs, and Bull Terriers have eye problems due to their eyelids, etc, it's all the fault of man and his breeding...mother nature tends to be a better breeder.

Our female pitbull had a lot of trouble with her hip. Doctors wanted her to have surgery. She use to limp around the house and drag her hind leg was pretty heart breaking. My dad started her on an exercise program. He built her up over a year. Had her running and doing lots of exercise slow at first by the end of the year she was running 4-5 miles everyday no more limp. He feeds the dogs a mix of burger rice and vegetables. Damn dogs eat better than I do.

Shaming: Manipulator uses sarcasm and put-downs to increase fear and self-doubt in the victim. Manipulators use this tactic to make others feel unworthy and therefore defer to them. Shaming tactics can be very subtle such as a fierce look or glance, unpleasant tone of voice, rhetorical comments, subtle sarcasm. Manipulators can make one feel ashamed for even daring to challenge them. It is an effective way to foster a sense of inadequacy in the victim.

Dogs are carnivores...and their size (a carnivore's size) tends to coorelate to the size of their prey...so, in theory a large great Dane or St. Bernard (and them being pack animals) would probably be feeding on animals that are the size of large deer, moose, elk. And their has to be enough to go around for the whole pack.

Take a look at a Lion Pride, where the females average well over 200 pounds, plus a male or two that weighs over 500 pounds---they need more than one wilderbeest kill, many times they have to kill multiple times or kill a cape buffalo.

And wolves are built for running. Legs that are too long don't help, and body sizes that haven't evolved thru natural means don't help either. Man breed dogs to benefit his needs, nature breeds animals to survive...and not even that is a perfect process. Look at Smilodon (sabre tooth cat). Many skeletons have shown excessive wear on the hip bones/joints. This was due to overtorquing of the hips in bringing down prey.

They do ok, have no kids and don't plan on having any. To each their own. To them, this is their kids.

Im sorry to hear that, an old car would last longer.
People who think domesticated animals are replacement for kids have no clue. Like Oprah.
When you create something living, it's different than buying a puppy and caring for it until it dies (in this case a short lived dog).

Yeah, it was multiple back surgeries, not one time. Not that it matters I guess, I like animals but wouldn't spend that on one. But, I could see how it could happen, 5k at a time or so. I'm sure my wife would want to spend that on her dog. It's all relative, my uncle dropped a few grand on his dog that died about seven months later. If you have the money, and that's what you want to do, why not? Personally, I'd rather that then spend on some homeless drug addict.  :-\
