While it's not confirmed, this looks to be the likely upcoming C7 vette (the middle one), what do you guys think?
-
Looks good!
-
I'm a big vette fan...but that looks like a tarted up Camaro
-
Its like it took parts from other cars and mixed it all end, rear is camaro , side quarter panel from gtr , front end looks Italian Ferrari like :-\ looks like shit!
C6 looks ten times better C5 looks good but build quality was the biggest pile of garbage for 40k and up car..
-
Big vette fan. Own a current C6. Not a chance I'd buy the C7. These spy photos have been circulating the last couple of months, and I can tell you many corvette owners are disgusted. To me, that's just a hideous camaro knock-off. To change the iconic vette lights is almost heretical! I know this sentiment is shared by many current C6 owners. Oh well, the new Vipers look sick!
-
I'd prefer C6 with C5 front end. I've always liked pop-up headlights but overall the C6 looks amazing.
C7 rear end looks bad, rest of the car ok. Curious to see the powertrain and suspension options.
-
Vipers are italian no longer American , italian owned, Italian interior, Italian parts from fiat!
-
Remember, when the C6 first came out lots of people at first said they preferred the look of the C5. Maybe this will just take some getting used to as well?

I hope so! Perhaps we're all just spoiled with how gorgeous the C6Z06 looked.
-
Freakin' delicious lookin' babe :P :P :P :P
I will buy that if I find my own oil well !!!

When the C6 came out, it looked like a logical progression of the car, this car looks like a mishmash of 5 different cars and the lines are all over the place. And those taillights....ugh.

very nice. reminds me of the Ferrari California

Do not like rear. Exactly like you said. The rear needs to be more feminine. It's been said that the best car desgins mix masculine and feminine cues. The should add a rear defuser, keep the lights round, and bodywork "humped" over each light. The rear backlight should taper down, the rear wheelwells should flare out, with ovoid brake intakes on the inside "haunches".
The side scoop should be more prominent, like the F40's, but still keep the Corvette look.
This should be more of "3 arc" design.
The front I like.
**Edit, it wasn't until a few months ago I noticed a several artists renders of the upcoming Ferrari F70, that I wondered "why can't the Corvette have more 'organic' cues, yet still be aggressive?"
for instance, I mentioned the wheel flare and side scoop, if the upcoming C7 ZR1 had a side scoop like this
(http://www.themotorreport.com.au/content/image/f/e/ferrari_f70_rendering_david_williams_02-0828-m:480x354.jpg)
it would be awesome...yet look at the "arc" over the wheels, of course this is a mid engine car, so the arc will be tighter, so for the Corvette it needs to be drawn out,
Now look at this model...look at the vents, look how organic they are, imagine that on the C7's hood and on the rear huanches.

I love vettes, the C6 zr1 was def my favorite car ever... but the new c7 is eh.. weird.. they are trying to steal euro deisgn and failing.. with the c6 they did it kinda... also a little bit of skyline gtr in its design
The front looks ferrarish but not at all.. the rear is ugly..
I just care about its performance in the end though
Those that say it looks camaroish maybe but the camaro actually looks good this looks like crap in my opinion.. too much going on... no flow or fluidity
-
Echt vet cool, man.. 8)

It's animation, so it's all speculative. So, we really don't know how it will look, other than the exhaust design.

Well being a getbigger, I own all three. I have my commuter car, my costco shopping car and my saturday car. They are all alright.

only in america...
i am sure similar discussions took place in the USSR when comparing Lada models
The US cant build cars for shit, and that is specially true of sports cars.

Majority of fastest production-car lap times are from domestics. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_N%C3%BCrburgring_Nordschleife_lap_times
And they are much cheaper than most foreign competitors.
-
fastest lap cars??
whats that got to do with anything
if money is the main issue (rgding performance cars) go japanese

Domestic = best combination or performance, price and styling. GTR fails in the styling component.

The GT-R had a sort of "attractive ugliness" about it, call it "functional ugliness", kinds like a Vulture's bald head may look ugly, but it serves a function. I believe the GT-R has a CD of .29 or lower.
It has the look of being chiselled out of rock or ice---hacks here and there.

The GT-R looks impressive but I prefer the R33 myself for looks.

I am a huge car guy. I hate fanboy-ness.
Yes the US built pretty shitty cars for a time.. but recent 10 years there's been improvement.
The best cars have been the mustang and corvette for what it's worth.. the last few corvettes were spectacular.
The rest of the regular family/econo cars suck ass compared to euro and jap offerings.. but then jap cars kinda sucked at one point too...
Americans are learning.. and they are applying it well. The vette is an amazing car and it's just lame to cite it as a prime example of crappy american cars... seriously.
The LS v8 small blocks are awesome... chevy small blocks period are awesome...
Yes euro cars are awesome, over designed, precise, always bringing sometihng new to the table but also very expensive.
Jap cars well.. they brought alot with small investments in increments and brining alot more for the cost of others... ultimately surpassing others in quality nad performance

I'll take the c6 anyday.

Camaro? Looks more like an Aston martin or ferrari to me.
-
They fucked up when they went away from the trademark Corvette circular tail-lights.
-
I'll take the c6 anyday.
i will take anything from italy that has more than 300 BHP over any corvette (including trucks)

Lol, have fun with that.
-
looks like a ferrari with downs
-
the assclown that designed the c7's rear should be fired! thought it was a camaro. otherwise looks good. wonder what the price tag will be
-
I have 2009 C6 corvette .. jet stream blue...
I don't like the C7 style .. 2014 is the year that its supposed to come out with the new style..
Almost finished paying off the 2009.. next purchase is a SL55
Corvetteblog.com is a great place to get your corvette below retail cost..
Got mine new for about $8000.00 less than what would pay in texas ;D. had to pay $1000 for shipping but overall I saved 7000.00

50 thousand to 65 thousand range

LS blocks are not 'technically crap'.
You are thinking 70s small blocks or something. Gen 3/4 small block v8s are awesome.. they are fuel injection, computer controlled, etc... but simple in mechanical parts. Good on gas for what they are, great power, great tunability.
It's just stereotyping that american cars of today/last ten+ years are like the ones from 20-30+ years ago.

This. The LS engine is pretty awesome. Yes, it's still a OHV V8, but everything inside the motor is pretty decent shit.
1.5mm/1.5mm/3mm Rings (I believe), 8mm (stem diam) hollow stem valves, great port layouts and designs... its a pretty decent piece.
And before the old "OHV vs OHC" issue comes up, OHV is still a great design, NHRA Prostock makes 3hp/ci Naturally Aspirated with OHV, and turns 10000 RPM (500ci Big Blocks/1500hp).
-
its 3 valves per cylinder, ls1 is even 2 valves per cylinder and ohc.
come on.
the only good thing about them is they get decent mpg with long gearing and transmission gears.
What is 3 valves per cylinder? What are you talking aobut? Ls1 is most certainly not OHC.
Dude, I like you, but it's pretty clear you have no idea what you're talking about.
-
the ls small blocks are technicaly fucking shit, the suspension is outdated as hell compared to the rest, but atleast these engines dont waste much fuel for what they are.
the l98 sbc and the ls1 were really good at this
Let me guess, you get all your car info from Top Gear. ;)
Do some more research before you sound like a dumbass.

Latest spy-photos of the C7 show round tailights.

When I saw the title, at first, I thought it was cervical x-rays. Work on the brain... lol
-
The c6 was a big improvement in build quality, not quite there yet but much better than the POS build of the c5, c7 should be the one that finally gets it right.
Camaro still falls waaaay short interior IMO is pure crap compared to th mustang
