He's been making speeches to get Romney election. Leaving that role.
Going to work as a lobbyist. make that money!
But the timing seems weird - just a few days after the 47% comment. Is this Pawlenty bailing on the effort to get Romney elected?

Jump ship before it sinks too much.

It would be foolish to say he is definitely leaving due to Romney's chances sinking, comments, etc.
Just as it would be foolish to assertively say his taking this job (and leaving role as Romney surrogate/speaker suddenly) is unrelated.
Maybe we'll see a trend of a lot of people leaving the campaign, organizations yanking $ from presidential support and putting it to congressional/local races, and candidates/congressmen making public statements to distance themselves from Romney.
maybe we won't.

no doubt hoping that stink of despair that is the Romney campaign will wash off so he can still get a decent job
the people who are running Romneys campaign should be rendered unemployable after this train wreck finally implodes on election day (if they even make it until then)

I think romney will make a HUGE move in the next week.
Remember when Coulter and others were destroying him? Ingraham too, I think. His response? "Meet Paul Ryan!" two weeks before Mccain unveiled Palin as VP.
Now he is up against similiar attack from within the GOP itself for this tape. His response? I thought it would be to move right. He's moving left. saying things in miami that would have gotten him booed off the stage at the RNC.
I can see some new added rights for same-sex coupled.
I'll take some of the praise from Obama about being the grandfather of obamacare.
THis is a campaign about the 100% of americans.
welfare is there to help folks out, just not permanently.

Tied in Gallup; Obama up by two in Rasmussen.
YEP!! Turn out the lights; the party's over!!!! ::)

Watch out now as Nostradamus 240 predicts something big!! Just ignore his prior predictions.
This asshole is the Bernanke of Getbig.

Yep.
Pawlenty's smart enough to see that Romney is an AWFUL candidate. After the debates, he'll be officially toast.
Get those lobbyist $$$$$$, Timmy! ;D

Hey, it is fun to make predictions. Nobody shits on Mike & Mike for picking panthers over Giants tonight.
It's fun to guess which candidate will swing left or right in the final weeks to nail down their base and suck up to swing voters.

I didn't realize he was the campaign CO-CHAIR. He wants to win major senate office in 2014, and he probably will. I know, he says in 2012 that he's not, but after a year of getting rich as a lobbyist and no real candidates appearing for those Minn races, he can scoot in and take them easily. He's very experienced and has tea party cred.
In this romney position - He's 6 and 1/2 weeks from the biggest election of his life, and leaves to be a lobbyist for a bank. He must REALLY have been upset or something about the recent week's development, and he is bailing. No way he could abandon "co-chair of the campaign that defeated obama!" from his resume. Then again, he has show he quits quickly when things get rough... he left the race after Iowa and he could have won it.
WASHINGTON - Former Gov. Tim Pawlenty on Thursday ruled out a run for political office in Minnesota in 2014, leaving Republicans without a top prospect in what are expected to be competitive races for U.S. Senate and governor.
Advisor Brian McClung told The Associated Press that Pawlenty ruled out the races as he prepares to take a new job as chief executive of The Financial Services Roundtable, a Wall Street lobbying group...
Pawlenty's new job was announced Thursday morning. He's leaving his job as national co-chairman of Mitt Romney's presidential campaign...
Minnesota Republicans will be looking for strong candidates in 2014, when U.S. Sen. Al Franken and Gov. Mark Dayton will be running for second terms. Both of those Democrats won their races by close margins that required statewide recounts...
