First doesn't pay enough, then assclown Reid says he hasn't payed in 10 years and they bitch because he paid too much and too much and supposedly took advantage of legal loopholes. Lets see Kerrys, Reids, Feinsteins and every other VERY rich dems taxes. The difference? It's already been proven they cheated, took kickbacks and didn't even pay certain portions of their own taxes. How much income tax he pays in a given year is less relevant and important than what percentage he pays. Romney paid 14% of some of his income (that which is not hidden in a tax haven) in income taxes. Middle income folks who don't use off shore tax shelters pay up to 38% of all of their income in income taxes every year in this country....I know, I am one of those folks who pays.

14% in federal income tax/capital gains is more than the avg middle income family pays which is around 13%.

One where the rate/percentage (flat rate) is constant and there are no deductions regardless of how high or low one's income is. There is no reason why one group of people should suffer a greater tax burden than another. This way no one gets a free ride and no one subsidizes someone else not paying their fair share.
