despite romney having a better grasp on the issues, these top repubs believe obama won.
-
damn...even Krauthamer
LOL

Those are all kneepadding drones.............
Wait those are prominent repubs?
If someone was to make a case that Romney lost it would be that he tactically lost.

Pretty much. And given that the same voters in two polls that said Obama won the debate also said Romney won on the economy, this is about as hollow a win as you can get.
Even Wolf Blitzer and John King, when breaking down their own poll, cited the numbers that favored Romney. Of the five topics that comprised this debate, Romney won on four of them (economy, taxes, immigration, and healthcare).
CNN Poll: Romney Wins 54-40 on Economy,
49-46 on Health Care,
51-44 on Taxes,
59-36 on Deficit,
49-46 on Leadership,
All in Favor of Romney
You now, as far as "Debate Winner" it's pretty close with those registered voters. CBS gives it to Obama, among registered voters 37-30. CNN's registered voters gives it to Obama 46-39.
But on actual issues -- the ones that will determine this election -- Romney destroyed him.
CNN's focus group claimed they thought Obama "won." They had it something like 14 for Obama, 15 draw, 6 Romney.
But even that group said this-- on the question of "Who offers a better vision for the future?," Romney edged Obama 18-17.
Now that's very slim. I wouldn't read too much into that.
But consider: More people think Romney presents a better vision for the future -- the quickest possible shorthand for "who should be President?" -- and yet he didn't "win" the debate?
You always have to question what the criteria people are employing when you ask them who "won." I think people are rating the performance. And narrowly saying, on performance, it was a close thing, but edge to Obama.
But ask about who actually reached them on the most important issues, and it's Romney, all the way.
So they seem to be distinguishing between performance and substance.
Romney wins the substance, pretty clearly.
I'll take it. And give Obama his charity performance points.
More: Foreign policy, Obama edges 49-47.
But this is amazing: Did Obama offer a clear vision for solving the country's problems?
38% Yes
61% No
61% No. Wow.
How about that asked about Romney?
49% Yes
50% No
A Spectator Culture: Americans have gotten pretty sophisticated about judging performance, especially after 10 years of American Idol.
We shouldn't assume that when people answer the question "Who won the debate?" they confuse that question with "Who did you find more persuasive?"
They might actually be offering a sophisticated analysis: "I think this guy won on debate performance points."
But then ask them "Who actually persuaded you?," and they might answer a completely different way.
It certainly appears that's what happened here tonight.

Obama got the win, simply for not sucking the way he did two weeks ago and parroting the talking points the libs desperately wanted to her, which we saw coming.

The problem is the less informed and woefully ignorant of politics in general will not know any better.
IMO, Romney could have slammed OB continuously and missed some golden opportunities.

Yup. i could have done better IMHO w facts, stats, and things obama has done vs the pie on the sky bs he promises.

He missed a couple here and there, just as he did in the first debate.
But, when it mattered, he absolutely pounded Obama on his record. It started with immigration. Notice that neither Obama nor his kneepadding supporters could answer why he did nothing about immigration reform his first year, despite having a supermajority in the Senate and a near supermajority in the House.

who would you say won the last 2 minutes (without a doubt always the most 2 important minutes of the debate)?

who would you say won the last 2 minutes (without a doubt always the most 2 important minutes of the debate)?
I would say Romney and here is why.
The question was "Tell us something no one knows about you to change misconceptions the public has"
Romney answered about himself and things he has done, etc etc.
Obama attacked Romney and used the 47% comment when he knew Romney could not respond.
Obama pulled a pure bitch move there and many saw it. Obama is a fucking pussy who is a coward and always hides behind women and trys to get cheap shots when the person being attacked cant respond.
-

Who says the last two minutes are the most important? It certainly wasn't for the first debate?
I'd give it to Romney.

I'd give it to Romney.
I also give it to Romney, mainly because i want to see OB fried.
But that's how it goes. repubs and dems will claim like victories. How will uncommitted voters feel? How did Romney come across? IMO he didn't slam OB enough and let him get away will complete BS.....that would have sealed the deal of victory.

Virtually nothing in Obama's statements in the debate will get uncommitted voters to swing his way. Usually if they're uncommitted in an election with an incumbent at this point, they probably aren't voting for the guy.
-
As if the douche bag talking heads on the right are any different from the douche bag talking heads on the left. Got to drum up them ratings for debate #3.
-

we know that debates are about way more than just the statements the men make. it's also about how they look, handle themselves, and would represent the nation.
Obama didn't win on his statements. He won on style. Romney had more steak, obama had more sizzle.
