Title: Romney is going to revolutionize the Middle East.
Post by: garebear on October 23, 2012, 03:30:18 AM
I just heard him say it.

He's going to give them more aid.

He's also going to change the way they view women.

Mitt Romney is an amazing man.

Yes, that's all fine and dandy but will he unite the world, make the polar ice caps stop melting and force the waters to recede?

Anyone can sign a check but not everyone can single handedly repair the Earth with powers of biblical proportion.

Romney's answer should have been...I don't care about the muslims, I don't care if they all die tommorrow, I'm trying to fix our economy, then flip the desk and walk out. Obama has already made a mess and allowed the douchbags in....

Oh... Obama made the middle east a mess?

It's closer to all-out war than at any point in the last 3-4 decades. I'd say he's done a good job fucking it up via his coddling of the Arab Spring and the Islamists it brought with it.

But the Arab Spring was started internally and done independently of Obama and America. They had internal Government issues.

But Obama has promised to cut the deficit next term. Never mind that he promised it in 2008 and hasn't done SHIT to cut any part of it in the last 4 years. But this time he means it! Really! His drones say so!!!!!  ::)

No one cares.

How about we talk about the fact that entire Middle East is on the verge of a massive regional war pitting Sunni against Shiites? A war that will almost certainly drag the USA and other major regional/world players into it. All of it having happened under Obama's watch. also.

How come you never want to talk about that but you're more than willing to keep spamming about a Romney quote?

The Middle East burns and you want to talk about a dumb quote made in a debate. It's even funnier when you consider the fact that Ahmadinejad leaves office next summer. Good to know your priorities are in line.

Hope you are saying this with tongue in cheek.

How long has the Middle East been fighting among themselves? How long have women been treated as chattel in the Middle East? If he could change these things he would be nothing short of amazing....unfortunately, he is talking out his ass.

along with that he's going to declare China a currency manipulator on DAY 1

In fact he has a long list of shit he's claimed his is going to do on Day 1

1.  Declare China a currency manipulator

2.  Repeal Obamacare

3. Approve a Canadain oil pipeline

4. start providing permits and licenses to people who’ve already been approved to drill on federal lands and in federal waters and in Alaska.”

5. pursue a 5 percent cut in nonsecurity discretionary spending

6  execute an executive order which directed that all regulations that have not yet been implemented be put on hold

7. executive orders I will carry out in the first day is one saying that on federal projects, union or nonunion can work, not just union

8. einstate the Mexico City Policy,

If he wins I think it's more likely his Press Secretray will come out on Day 1 and shake the Etch a Sketch and say all those promises were to trick you guys into voting for us and now we're going to start over...... again

The truth is both candidates are saying things which stretch the truth. People who actually believe campaign promises are really gullible. A President's ability to fix all that ails us is very limited and not just by Congress, but also the law. Some folks are looking for a superstar President. That will never happen!

What is sad is that we have become so intolerant  and negative that we expect change to be instant. The truth is change is rarely swift. It takes time to make a mess of things and it takes time to recover from the messes we made. Many people who are voting for Romney are voting for a quick-fix change. They are going to be sorely disappointed when it doesn't happen.

I am not sure what you are trying to say here. The fact is that it happens for many people every time there is an election whether the incumbent or their challenger takes office. It is a given, some people will always be disappointed regardless of the results.

As in that exact same thing happened in 2008.

The Middle East burns of its own accord; attributing primary responsibility for the events there to Obama -- or any other U.S. president -- is childish to the extreme and only feeds into the narcissism of these men, what with their thinking they do anything like control the world. You know those ridiculous campaign promises? You help foster them with your childish expectations of presidential efficacy. You're part of the problem.

Yes. They did.
They voted for the egomaniacal, useless community organizer with no real world experience in the hope that he would not be a third GW Bush term.

We got a third Bush term x 100000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000.

Now those same people are looking down on voters that want to do the same thing that occurred in 2008 but this time it means voting for a Republican.

I guess Americans are supposed to be more patient and tolerant ONLY towards Democratic presidents.

Obama said himself that if he didn't turn around the economic situation that it would be a one term proposition.  Time to give him what he has earned.

Romney is promising just as much 'hope and change' in 2012 as Obama did in 2008.

So I guess repubs should start picking who will be the dreamboat to replace Romney in 2016.   Cause if you've read the list of romney promises, at least 50% of his supporters are gonna be asking what happened.  He's promised everything to both sides.
