I was waiting for the smaller iPad before buying a new tablet but the price is bullshit. Will cost around $550 for a 32GB model with a cover and such and it has crappy features like the iPad2.
I am looking at the Microsoft surface tablet, it is $599 for 32GB and a smart cover with a keypad built in. The only thing is I have no clue about the apps for the surface. I would want a lot of the bullshit games like angry birds, etc... but not sure if the Surface is more of a PC where you install things or like the IPad where it is just a little button to press.
Any ideas guys?

One factor that has me betting on the Ipad is that Apple is in the tablet business for the long haul. It is one of their flagships. If the Surface doesn't do well I can see Microsoft just dumping it and then I will be stuck with a brick

Hahaha, look at your consumer dilemmas. You're hilarious, man.
'Ere I've got a solution for you: don't buy a fucking tablet. Shit is useless.

Explain this shit to me, because I really don't get the appeal of the 7" format. It's basically a large phone, except you can't use it to phone. It's portable, which is cool to some extent, but you're also carrying a phone in another pocket, along with a wallet. Personally I'd go with a 10" android, probably a TF700 + keyboard, or maybe wait out the Nexus 10 or whatever it's going to be called, assuming it has SD or micro SD slots.
History generally isn't kind on early adopters of MS goods. I'd wait out the first service pack on the OS, and probably the next gen tablet, too.

I had the Ipad2, liked it but at times when I was going somewhere and would look at it as a little too big to tag along. I realized a smaller one would be better. but is is primarily for watching movies and shows when on the road, but having internet access as well.

If you are going to buy the Surface then wait for the pro version to be released next year which runs regular windows apps, the current RT Surface can only run apps specially written for Windows 8 RT, which will be hardly any for a year or so.Expect to pay 1000 dollars or so for the pro model though.Depending on how serious you want to get with the keyboard side you might want to take a look at the Asus Transformer, which is the current king of the Tablet/Keyboard combo, it runs android so there are thousands of apps.Look at the transformer Prime as that is top of the transformer line.
