Title: Milwaukee CEO warns of 'personal consequences' if Obama is elected
Post by: blacken700 on October 25, 2012, 10:05:37 AM
i think this is a little over the top

Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Mike White, the chairman and owner of Rite-Hite, a major Milwaukee manufacturer of industrial equipment, told employees in an email this week that all employees "should understand the personal consequences to them of having our tax rates increase dramatically if President Obama is re-elected, forcing taxpayers to fund President Obama's future deficits and social programs (including Obamacare), which require bigger government."

The email stunned some employees. One employee said he felt threatened by the email. "It's a good company, but for this to come out, it's absurd," the employee said.

The employee said even supervisors were surprised by the tone of the email.

(snip)

In his email, White said neither he nor the company wanted to “prejudice any employee for their political views and totally respect your right to vote as you choose. I am simply trying to present the facts as I know them and to protect the business you have helped build! Please think carefully about your vote on Nov. 6.”

i dont like when unions, religious institutions, bosses, or others tell their employees how to vote like this.

i understand their emotion and desire to influence things - especially in a swing state.

but it's a tough line here.

I have no problem with this at all and in fact would go so far as to say that the owner should fire obama voters on the spot regardless.

I have been campaigning for several union endorsed candidates the past several weeks. Not once have I told anyone how to vote. What I have done is informed them about some of the positive things these candidates have done....all of which can stand the test of a fact check. There is a difference between educating folks about the candidates and telling them how to vote.

It seems to me that when one's employer suggests to their employees who they should vote for, there is an implied threat there. Your employer can fire you; in many cases without "just cause" if they so choose. Unions cannot fire people because they don't vote for the union endorsed candidates. Therein lies a huge difference.

If that guys' employees are voting for someone who is going to attack him and the company than he should fire every single obama voting employee on the spot.

Elections have consequences and I wish the dude on November 7, 2012 would fire every single lib in the company at 9:01 am and tell them to send their resume to obama to let him get them a job.

Come on, man. Don't you think that is a bit extreme?  If a person is going their job effectively it shouldn't matter who they vote for.

Absolutely not.   If his employees are voting for someone who is going to steal more money from him and the company to spread around to the layabouts and lazy dopers and thugs - yes they deserve to be terminated immediately.

It states that if Obama is re-elected and follows thru on his policies, there is a real world impact. They are not telling the employees how to vote.  Actions have consequences.  It's reality.

I probably wouldnt have mentioned obama only that if taxes are raised that there might be cuts.

I think that would get the point across.
